That's what I was worried about. I think my next upgrade will be a new board and more ram.

That's two of the three you need. The new processor to go with it is de rigeur. Mostly because they keep changing socket types.

Well, I didn't mention that because I assumed it was a given

It's definitely on the old side as it only has 2 cores.
