Help me pick an arcade racing game for my PS4.

I have the itch to play an arcade style racing game on my PS4.

I haven’t played a racing game in a very long time. Probably on a Wii or maybe even a GameCube. So I really haven’t paid attention to anything that’s come out in 10 years.

I won’t play super seriously so I was hoping for something that’s easy to learn. Also I’m going to buy something when it’s on sale so it doesn’t have to be brand new.

The need for speed games are probably your best option. They can all be had for cheap. Rivals is probably the arcadiest of them all.

Ironically, Need for Speed Payback was one of the PS4+ games in October.

I remember now that the last racing game I played was Mario Cart on the Wii.

I am intrigued by Wreckfest but it looks like it’s mostly online and I usually play solo or couch co- op. Is it still fun to play solo?

It's not really racing although it does involve moving fast with cars, but Captain Caveman and I have recently gotten into Rocket League. It may be free for PS+ members at this point, but don't know for sure.

It's free for everyone, and is more fun that it has a right to be.

it has a solid solo mode and driver AI is fine. car and driving physics are very fun.

i really recommend just dropping into random online sessions once in a while
