PS4 low volume
Is there something I can do about the low volume of this system? I use a headset plugged into the controller. With them maxed up and the PS4 up all the way I get barely normal sound level. Is there a way to pump this up?

A headphone amp would likely be your best bet.
At ~$35, the Creative Sound Blaster E1 is a decent portable headphone amp, with excellent battery life, that should be fully PS4-compatible.

Something like this could do the trick. You run an optical audio cord from the PS4 to the doohickey, then plug your headphones into the doohickey.Daehawk wrote:I use my PS4 with my PC monitor so nope.....dont think..id have to look.

Re: PS4 low volume
I'm using Kingston HyperX over the ear headphones, plug it into the PS4 and have never had an issue with low volume. Perhaps its the headphones you are using? Do your headphones offer a volume slider?
No.

No I use Sennheiser G4ME ZERO. They take a lot to drive...Im thinking my PS4 just cant drive them. They have the seperate mic and speaker plugs too. They work great with my sound card. I was hoping it was just a setting. I cant afford another piece of hardware. I had to by that Y dongle cable splitter to even use them on my PS4 and get both sound and mic in the single plug. Their Impedance is 50 so take power to drive them.

Re: PS4 low volume
From the HyperX data sheet, mine are 60 ohm, so in theory mine would be quiet (and they aren't). I think there's something mucked up in your config somewhere.Daehawk wrote:No I use Sennheiser G4ME ZERO. They take a lot to drive...Im thinking my PS4 just cant drive them. Re: PS4 low volume
Just a thought, have you flipped through the audio setup settings on the PS4? I don't recall for sure what options are there, but sometimes if things are set to 'surround' instead of 'headphone' you could end up with quieter audio since it's pumping some audio to nonexistent speakers.Daehawk wrote:Well thats good actually. I use the headphone jack with earbuds that have a built-in mic, and seldom even turn my receiver on amymore.
Did you find the volume level in Settings>Devices>Controllers?
