Pocket Mortys is a riff on the central conceit of Pokémon (Japanese for pocket monsters): you travel through the world collecting and leveling up a team of Mortys through turn-based RPG-style combat. When a Morty in battle runs out of HP, he becomes “dazed” and can’t fight anymore. The first collector of Mortys to run out of Mortys wins. If the player wins, you get loot, if the opponent wins, you’ll be transported back to the start and won’t get any reward for your Rick.

Each of the various types of Mortys (there seem to be 82, according to the internet) that isn’t your Morty Prime (who is neutral) is assigned a type in the Rock, Paper, Scissors rules structure. It’s easy to remember because it is literally an icon of a rock, some paper, or a pair of scissors. Rock types are super effective against scissor types, but vulnerable to paper types…you know how that goes. Mortys learn attacks and buffs as they level up and some of these will have the rock/paper/scissor icons to indicate it’s a special type attack.
It's almost as if people are the problem.
