The main thing I've learned in this game is that tgb wakes up at a god-forsaken hour.

True, because tlr gets up then to leave for work at 5:30. OTOH, I do try to go back to bed after she leaves.

I am glad it will let me exit the game. Wouldn't work before had to use home.

GG. I just coulkdn't get past Bronze for my production, and that really screwed me up.

Good game all. Being able to finish the Fast Food wonder on my last turn was key. I think that gave me 25 victory points by itself. I got worried when you two made the peace treaty that you'd start going at me with the military, but I guess with only one turn left there wasn't much opportunity.

I certainly would be up for another game if you guys are interested. I still haven't played a 4-player game yet either, which would be fun to try out if we can find another willing vict... er, player.

Whoops - I forgot to close off the 4th spot when creating a game, so we've got a rando player. Hope that's ok!

Here's a bug - at the end of the turn I just played I wasn't dealt any political cards.

Definitely a bug. The following turn I only got one political card. If this happens again I'll just resign rather than play at a disadvantage.

I don't think that's a bug. You already have 3 political cards. I think (?) you only get as many political cards as you have red bubbles.

Nope. You discard down to the point where you have as many cards as bubbles, then get dealt 2 more. That's the way it's worked up to now. I thought it might have something to do with my leader, but that isn't it either.

You get a card at the end of your turn for each military action you have remaining. So if you are using military actions, you will get fewer cards than your max.

Something is definitely haywire. Turn before last I had 3 red bubbles, 2 military cards in my hand, and wasn't dealt any.

As I said, sucking at the game is enough of a handicap. I don't need it compounded by a bug.

I honestly have no idea exactly how/when cards are dealt. I know there have been many times I haven't gotten any cards, but I assumed the game knows what it's doing.

Not sure what's going on with tgb's cards. Sounds like something wonky, but I haven't run into that. Here are the official rules for military cards:

I'd also be down to play a game sometime. I own it, but have only gotten it to the table twice over the past couple years. Love the digital implementation.

This last turn I got deal the proper number of cards, for all the good that did me.

What's your username for the game? I'll add you to the next game we play.

I realized after I grabbed it that I don't think there's enough time left to get it built.

GG. And we all beat the rando! But Montag blew the rest of us out of the water. I waited way too long to start building things that generated victory points. By the time I got Sid and my libraries, it was too late to catch up.

If you guys are interested, I can start up another game when Aenima responds to my friend request.

I think the double punch of Aristotle and the Library of Alexandria gave me a great start. I'm ready for more.

I set one up for us and Benholio.

I probably should have known this about five games ago, but how exactly does bidding for colonies work. Is a unit worth it's attack value? If so, I didn't realize that and it would explain why I always get outbid.

Also, when there is a tie, either for colonies or for the effect of a card, how is the winner decided?

1) Yes. You can also sacrifice cards that have military/colonization values on them but you have to give up at least one unit first.

2) Beats me

In which direction? Later turn players have the advantage?

Earlier. The second player must beat the first.

That's a pretty nice advantage for the 1st player!

To be clear, the order is who triggers the event is 1st and then it rotates. The original starting player may not be earlier in order for the event.

If you have a military advantage, there is less risk in queue events since one will trigger immediately.

Well, aren't I everybody's bitch? :D

That was a rough one, largely because I didn't draw a single defense card until Era III.
