Burnout Paradise Remastered
I guess if we can't get a new Burnout game, this is the next best thing. Coming next month.
Man, I loved this series.

Nice, would be all over that. Played the crap out of it and it's one of the only games I ever multi'd with friends. Ooo, sweet, all of the DLC as well!

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
I still play the original sometimes.
Unless they re-did the physics though, or added some extra races, I don't see a reason to get the remaster.

Wow, a remaster? I think it's beautiful as is.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
Huh, and I played it quite recently too! I don't remember any cops in the game though, unless they were in the dlc's?

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
There were a couple of cop cars you could drive and yes, there was a "Cops and Robbers pack" as DLC.

... I actually cranked up my PS3 to see if both it and this still worked. They did! Slowly. The controller was almost dead so didn't do much driving. It was great to hear the music and the announcer's voice again. And I still had all of the DLC loaded there but sadly without the Cops and Robbers pack.

I'm really tempted. Really liked the game on PS3, probably one of my favorite racing games of all times together with Split/Second: Velocity - really loved this one, probably the only racing game I ever "finished"

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
Ahh, I see. Well, doing a bit more research on it and I see they were only available on the console versions. I played the PC version, which also didn't get Big Surf.MonkeyFinger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:58 am There were a couple of cop cars you could drive and yes, there was a "Cops and Robbers pack" as DLC.

Yep, but the good news is that all of that is now coming to PC thanks to the remastered version.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
Has there been any news about them re-opening the servers? I'm assuming that would have to be part of this.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
I played it rather recently and from what I could see, the servers were there. At least the servers related to the speed records.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
Picked this up today. While the "remaster" is rather underwhelming, I had kinda forgotten just how much sheer fun this game was. The sense of speed and the chaos of near misses (and crunching hits) is absolutely fantastic.
The only thing I don't like is how missing a turn takes you out of a race entirely. I had a pretty comfortable lead, but didn't see the turnoff to the finish line. Went from 1/8 to 8/8 in the blink of an eye. Kinda frustrating.

Re: Burnout Paradise Remastered
I have had crashes or missed turns and still won races handily. But then again, I am only up to my "B" license. Stuff definitely gets harder.
Showtime mode is still as fun as ever. My only frustration currently is locating a couple of the drive-throughs and events. But I'm pretty damned close.
