So many memories in that car.

"Here's the upholstery stain where Daddy bled after that riding mower crash. And here's the discoloration from where the battery blew up and spewed acid and parts of his arm came off. And here's the mark from where he amputated a finger closing the hood. And here's . . ."

Just wait until you can train the girls to wash the car.

My older daughter gets to fetch daddy's slippers in the winter:

The younger one has a mind of her own and it usually involves danger:

Both are firmly on the geek side. The older one wants me to bring her back Darth Vader from Gen Con, but the younger one wants either Yoda or Chewbacca.

Ok, no pics at the moment, but my daughter (5, sent by my son, 8) came into my office, asking if they could have some marshmallows. I said you guys have too many treats. You're going to spoil your dinner. She wandered back to her brother, and this is what I heard from the other room, "He didn't say anything, just blah blah blah".

Ok, well maybe you had to be there, but she did it in a 5 year old voice. It made me angry for a second, but then I laughed out loud.

(edit: Too many apostrophes)

My kids got out June 1 and are going back next Tuesday - that's 12 full weeks. I'm pretty sure that is the same as when I grew up, so don't worry about today's youth - they'll be just as messed up as us. :D

In college, we started the week before Labor Day, but were out by mid-May. This year for that school reads 08/27 - 05-14. Public schools in the area run 2.5 weeks later to May 31st.

Ha! Think it was the fifth grade where I started fantasizing about being an adult and not having to go to school anymore. Being able to wake up when I wanted and not getting on a school bus anymore. Work always seemed so much more enjoyable than school. But not every kid feels that way, think my brother's kids really like going to school. God bless them ;)

Speaking of my brother, because I don't have permission from him, here is a non face shot of his kids that I like to consider mine every now and then (wrote the auntie!)

In 2012, scientists working at a North American cryogenics laboratory accidentally unleashed a super-virus capable of reanimating dead tissue. Several of their experiments broke free of their cryo-chambers, leaving a trail of bloodshed and carnage in their wake. In the ensuing days, these undead terrors infected hundreds of innocent victims. The first stages of a zombie apocalypse had begun.

Mankind's only hope is that the virus has an Achilles' heel. It can only survive in cold environments that mimic the habitat from which it arose. For this reason, these walking corpses bypass brains in favor of another far more critical substance......ice cream.

Lock your doors. Keep your children inside. And for God's sake, hide the Haagen-Dazs. For nothing can stop.......THE MELTING DEAD!!!
