Tonight could be the night. As a dedicated Sox fan I'm not going to predict anything, but rather hope for what we've been waiting for for 86 years.
I hope Derek Lowe's final game in a Sox uniform will be his best, and I hope Jason Marquis doesn't pitch, well, like Jason Marquis.
Let's go Sox!

I'm actually staying at home tonight to monitor the game... I'm genuinely afraid of riots and violence in the City... if the Red Sox win, that is... so I'm listening on Radio and following on ESPN (no TV for me - on the brightside, that means no Tim McCarver). If it's close in the middle innings, I will probably have to venture out... too bad I don't have a flack jacket and a big gun.

I'm at home, but I too may venture out in to the streets of Portland if the Sox are leading in the late innings. Portland is nothing like Boston, but there's still a pretty huge population of Sox fans, so it may get a little nuts.

The Cards fans are
fired up . Damon's lead off home run doesn't seem to have dented their support. Good to see.
....
I live in Brighton, so I'm pretty sure I'm OK. BC kids are wusses.

Marquis doesn't look too swift so far. I'm sure he's on a very short leash.

Good call, Sparky. Thou methinks you were thinking Slam more than 2-run double...

I wound up helping my gf on a business trip (she has a broken ankle, I'm unemployed) in Philly for a few days, so there's a good chance I'm not going to be home for the win. I'm really a Mets man, but living in/around Boston for 6+ years I've definitely gotten caught up in the whole Sox/Patriots hoopla. It's silly, but I'm kind of upset that I might not get to see the local news reports and listen to Dennis & Callahan talk about the game in the morning.
My gf lived in Kenmore pre-August, and she's pretty glad she's not there anymore. I tried to go to her place after the Super Bowl in January and the cops blocked off her street. The cop told me "you don't want to go down there, they're burning cars."

Got home just in time to catch the game on the 8th inning.
Red Sox 3, Cardinals 0.
This could be it! This could be the Red Sox day!

If Boston wins, I'm calling 8 people will lose their lives in Boston due to the riots.
