Cry Fest: Extreme Make over

Post by dedewhale »

I have not seen any threads about Extreme Makover: Home Eidtion but last nights episode actually had me crying the whole damn time. If you were not emotional during that then you have no tear ducts!

The wife was bawling over that like crazy. Ifind the whole affair more than a little manipulative. Plus, I am unfeeling. I haven't had a good cry since they took She's the Sherrif off the air.

Not to be mixed up with The Sherriff of Hong Kong (damn the internet is a twisted window on the culture of the world):
She always shows up when I'm up
But she never shows up when I'm down
But she's under arrest
'cause I might guess
The Sheriff of Hong Kong
Then she goes up in a flash
I bite the end of her sash
Then I'm long gone
To Hong Kong Kong

She never makes a taste mistake
She's the Sheriff of Hong Kong
Now I'm the Sheriff of Hong Kong
Now she's the Sheriff of Hong Kong
Long gone gone
To Hong Kong Kong

Whoa I'm long gone
To Hong Kong Kong

Long gone gone
To Hong Kong Kong
Ad hu
And uh zing hu
I don't know who I am
Do you?
Ohhh ahhh oooh

There's a string and bat dangle
Black and white bat and cat panda
And uh
She's the Sheriff of Hong Kong
And uh
Ad hu
And uh zing hu
I don't know who I am
Do youuuu?

Now she's the Sheriff of Hong Kong gone
I bite the end of her sash
And she's off in a flash
And we're long gone gone
To Hong Kong Kong

There's a string and bat dangle
Black and white bat and cat panda
And uh
She's the Sheriff of Hong Kong and uh
Ad hu
And uh zing hu
Whoa-ohhhh ohhh ohhh

wai ni sha yeh
wai ni sha yeh
she say
ohhh - ohh

Ad hu
Zing hu
wai ni sha yeh
wai ni sha yeh
ohhh
Ad hu
Zing hu
She's the Sheriff of Hong Kong
Zo hu
Zing hu
Aah ohhh
Aaaah oh
Ad hu
Zing hu
Ahhh me and you
Black lives matter!

EM: Home Edition comes across as VERY manipulative. Like, "see how what great people we are and how nice we are. No we're in no way doing this for advertising dollars its just pure altruism." Those designers act like they're doing fucking charity work when I'm sure they are each getting paid $50K+ per episode. What a laugh.

And on a side note: Suzanne Sommers in uniform. Mmmmmmm.

kind of like a cloud I was up way up in the sky and I was feeling some feelings that I couldn't believe; sometimes I don't believe them myself but I decided I was never coming down

This thread is actually really funny in light of the conversation my wife and I had while watching the show. She asked "Do you think it was a requirement that the people on the show be all emotional, not just good designers? They were practically in tears just watching the video introduction to the family." I replied "Yeah, probably. I mean, how well would it go over if some of them were rolling their eyes and looking bored?" We agreed that neither of us is weepy enough to be on that show even if we had the requisite carpentry skills.

Sounds like some of you folks could make the grade though.

Like we should expect a Sith Lord and Mrs. Sith Lord to be all weepy and metro?

Mrs. Debris was bawling like a baby while I was more interested in the score of the game.

Ty is annoying.

And what about the 12 year old kid who loves dinosaurs, gets a dinosaur room, then decides he hates dinosaurs in a year?

Whatever happened to forward thinking????

Exactly. They should have gone with a hot girls theme.

I see that every day. The guy who sits across the hall from me at work, as a chopped photo from a print copy of The Onion with a photo of her in a uniform with the caption: "Suzanne Somers Named U.S. Thighmaster General."
