GG the site initiated in 1997. The GGF took off in 1999. Five year run.

OO came online in 2004. Eight years and counting.

I think I arrived at GGF in 2000 or 2001. That is a LONG time to stay with an internet community. If you'd asked me in 2001 whether it was possible to find, identify with, and grow close to the same bunch of random strangers on the internet -- I would have told you that you were crazy.

I started lurking on the GG forums around 99 after visiting Rich's page for a bit. Not sure what made me first peek behind the curtain. I think the Roll Call made me aware that there was a community which I hadn't really been a part of since the Usenet.

Happy bOOrthday OO.

Found out about GG back in 99 when I subscribed to PC Gamer. Started lurking on the forums when Baldur's Gate II was released. Started posting regularly when Black & White was released about a year later. Lost contact in 2004 when the site went down, then discovered OO in 2008.

Though I don't post here nearly as often as I did at GG, this is still the forum I read and post on the most often. So...

My path is almost exactly the same, although thanks to console gold I found OO pretty quick after GG went down. I just checked GG because I wanted release dates.

No personal experience with him outside of Guildwars where he was nothing but helpful when around. That said, my understanding is that if you'd like to know the answer to your "now what" question you could probably get it by doing a google image search for goatse with safe search off. Not something I would advise doing. Unless you are Chaosraven. In which case, go ahead. :ninja:

Huh. I thought it was the 10th anniversary just recently....

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg
