I don't know why it's so hard to remember...it's simply the Tuesday before the 7th Sunday before the first Sunday after the first full moon of Spring.

The Polish Deli near my house actually has them year round.
Traditionally though, they are supposed to only be eaten on Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras/Shrove Day.

None of this matters to me this year though. I have a bet with a co-worker that I can go a whole year without eating a donut, so I'll be skipping this time.

My wife kept talking about "poonch-kies," and I was like, wait, what are those? She spelled it and I was like, "No. That is not how that word is pronounced." I looked it up and I am very upset. Fuck (the pronunciation of) paczkis.

I saw them at my grocery shop on Monday. I opted out this year. I didn't really want a grocer paczki and I've trying to limit both sugar and crazy high calorie "snacks".
