Philadelphia Experiment?
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

You should get this, then, if you loved that last movie. Personally, this is in my top 10 of all time:

No.
Another clue:
The main character is British, and pissed off.

That looks like a scene from "Icky Thing On The Table".
My favorite line is in that scene when Kevin Costner says: "Great. Why'd you put that there? Now I need a new table. Jerk."

If so, I hate myself for knowing that and I hate you for drudging up the memory of that awful film.

That's right AW. You can see the Coke bottle in his hand, and he's gone to the edge of the world to throw it back to the gods.

yeah, it was the Coke bottle that I clued in on right away. Ugh I hated that movie.
Ok, gimme a few seconds to come up with a new one.
I was going to use this one but I figured that would be way too difficult. If any body can guess what this is in the meantime, they're welcome to it.

Eric the Viking?
Nope.
I've found a pic to use but I'll leave the ship one up for a bit and see if anybody gets it. If not, I'll switch to this other pic which should be a bit easier.

Both wrong.
I'll throw down a couple of hints.
It came out in 1978.
It is an import.

Don't worry, it was an intense but thankfully brief hatred.
Unlike my hatred for that piece of shyt movie. That is probably the one movie I most regret actually paying money to subject myself to.
I'd rather watch the terrible movie that my stumper picture is posted from in it's original Japanese (are you paying attention cuz that's a hint) than sit through TGMBC.
