When you reset the game, you keep your achievements and your current cookies are calculated to give you Heavenly Cookie bonuses. Those give you significant boosts to your CpS.

You'll probably find that you can be back to your current level in a couple of hours if you reset.

Plus, I like getting to click on stuff again. It gets boring otherwise.

Currently I'm trying to get the 200 achievements for everything. I'm working on Portals. Only 2 more. Then I'm going to reset again.

Sorry, couldn't wait for Friday:

Sandcastle Builder is something of a Cookie Clicker meets xkcd. I started playing it yesterday, but I'm really only in the VERY early part of the game. Some people have called it the Dwarf Fortress of idle games.

I can post a few beginner's tips if you'd like them.

OK,

first off, this is a VERY slow game. The timer and clock up at the top advance the picture one frame at a time. That's called the ONG (for reasons I don't understand, like much in the game). Clicking on the picture will gain you sand, but the important thing to get at this point is castles. Grab a bunch of sand, then buy as many NewPixBots as you can afford. Each ONG they will create castles for you. Purchasing those NPBs will unlock Trebuchets, which will also gain you castles at a higher rate. Buying several Trebuchets will unlock Scaffolds, which in turn will unlock Waves and then Rivers. That will take quite a while, but that's where you start. Don't worry too much about sand and the loot store quite yet.

When the clock runs down to zero, you will see a countdown on your NPBs. If you click on the picture during that countdown, you "ninja" your bots and lose some bonus castles. Click the picture AFTER the countdown is called stealth buying. You can get bonuses for running up streaks of those.

The button at the top that says Molpy Down is the reset command. I've been told that you want to use that when you get to Newpix 3, to unlock the time travel ability, although you won't use it for some time to come. You keep your achievements, but you lose your sand and castles and loot when you reset.

The other VERY important thing early in the game is the Redundakitties. You always want to click on them when they come up, as they can give you HUGE bonuses, and later on can unlock various things. They can appear in any of the menu areas, so I usually close the loot store when I'm not buying something just so I don't miss a kitty in there.

That should be enough to get started. When you've gotten castles up to some decent level you can start buying sand buckets and working that angle.

There are all sorts of random bonuses in the game for buying things or clicking on things. For items you can purchase multiples of you always get a bonus for getting to 14 of them. Again, don't ask me why, because I don't know. But that would be a good goal for all of the castle tools.

Apparently the sugar alcohols they used to replace the straight up sugar were a bad choice. All of these people give Brian a run for his money. The german date one is fantastic.

Actually it just updated to a new version like 2 days ago.

I think the only change was that it 'auto detected the season', so - Halloween right now instead of Easter.... assuming it will default to Christmas probably soon.

OK. ASHF is a boost which will randomly activate with redundakitties. Most of the time you will either get "You Are Not Lucky" or the sand production boost. But The DORD will randomly choose from several other available options. Some of these will be unlocking other boosts. ASHF will give you the stated discount on any purchases, either from the shop, castle tools, or sand tools (there are boosts which will eventually increase the level of discount). The that you get (at least) 40% off, and the odds of getting this at least once per pic are high, it's generally worthwhile to plan your purchasing around ASHF. You can also unlock a store item which will lock out the stores for a few seconds after the discount expires. I have found this worthwhile. Like several other things in the game, you need to go into your loot menu to turn on this option once you have it.

For the most part I haven't found the wiki all that helpful. But part of that is due to this being a weirdly complicated game with rather counter-intuitive language at every turn.

BTW, once you've gotten castle production up a bit, don't neglect sand tools. You'll really need them during the judgment dip when you get there. Castle production is MORE important, but you'll really need that sand as well for some shop items.

It just went off. 2Mn is not enough time for me to do anything so I shut it off for now.

I assume I'm a long way from Judgement whatever that will be.

Mostly, I've been concentrating on whatever gets me to boosts, which means a lot of sand gathering. I think my castle building has suffered but that's OK, I'm in non hurry. I'm enjoying the slow progression of the ONG. The just built their first castle.

Oh, you want to spend a LOT more on castles than on sand at the beginning. Castles are the main currency.

edit: one more thing--if you don't ninja your castles, the DORD will always activate when the timer runs down. Nearly all of the time this will activate the Furniture discount, so that's a good time to plan an expensive purchase.

Learned turning off loot view makes rendendundakitties a hell of lot more frequest (or findable) as they hide in your badges not shown with not indication they are hiding.

Got to glass chips and am theoretically producing them but I don't see them anywhere. I also read a bit about judgement dip. No idea when to brace for it yet nor what to do about it. I do know my NewPixBots are already almost all of my production. I hope there is some sort of ingame warning.

I also now save all my purchases for the Swedish Furniture event.

The Judgment Dip will, after a little while, drive you crazy, but all you can do is fight through it. If you read anything, hopefully you read that you shouldn't buy Bag Burning. A variety of other items will pop up, and you want to buy them as you can. Most of them just take lots of sand to buy,so that's why you want to get your sand stuff up eventually. The general idea of the Judgment Dip is that your bots go nuts and start eating all your castles, though not all at once. Thus during that period you should pretty much just spend all your castles as soon as you get them. Sometimes you'll have to wait for your sand to get to a certain level for store purchases, and that can be a pain just due to how sand works.

I think glass chips are under Hill People Tech or Tagged Items (or both). There are some upgrades in there to buy (to increase glass storage space), but you won't really need glass for quite a while.

Yeah, I probably should have included in my beginner tips that you want to keep most of your menus closed most of the time so you can spot your kitties.

FWIW, I came out of the Judgment Dip a few days ago. I'm currently at NewPix 132. Prices on everything are pretty ridiculous now for me.

Molpied down around newpix 140 because I discovered I bought burning bag by mistake. Got time travel instead of trying to make the rip in time work and wow the game goes much faster when you get all those free newpixbots. This time I got all of the judgement day boosts by newpix 49 and then locked it. The game still has the same amount of waiting but there is ton more progress when I jump forward.

Next tip. Don't go to 100% glass chip production because there will be no room to concurrently produce glass blocks. And it takes a turn to shut stuff down and turn stuff on.

OK I've reached glass ceilings. I got to Glass Ceiling 1 and the wiki says there is an algorithm of destroying glass ceilings to bring up the next one. I see how to lock Ceiling 0 and 1 but I don't see how to destroy them.

never mind locking destroys ceilings

Logicat is too fast for me to think through in time. I got the puzzle but it disappeared before I could submit.

All the Prenda stuff is here so...

‘Porn Troll’ Attys Escape Sanctions In Copyright Suit
An Illinois federal judge Tuesday denied motions for contempt and sanctions after a defendant in a copyright case said attorneys for so-called porn troll Lightspeed Media Corp. had blocked discovery and lied about being insolvent to avoid attorneys’ fees, saying he had not presented sufficient proof.

U.S. District Judge David R. Herndon said that while individual defendant Anthony Smith had “uncovered questionable financial activity” on the part of Lightspeed’s counsel — John Steele, Paul Hansmeier and Paul Duffy, operators of Prenda Law — and that the arguments raised and the records cited left the court suspicious of their previous representations, Smith had failed to show enough evidence to have his contempt motion granted.

“The court does not believe that Lightspeed’s counsel have conducted themselves in a professional manner,” the opinion states. “However, suspicion is not a sufficient basis for a finding of contempt.”

Popehat: FBI Actively Investigating Prenda Law Team For Fraud
Today I spoke with two sources who confirmed receiving a letter from the FBI inquiring about their experiencing with Prenda and seeking information about Prenda's activities. The letter — which I have reviewed — has been sent out on a large scale to attorneys who have represented targets of Prenda's litigation.
...
Based on my 21 years in the federal criminal justice system, I believe the letter reflects an active, determined investigation in its later stages. The letter represents an abandonment of operational security and confidentiality; it suggests the FBI no longer sees a need for stealth. That, in turn, suggests that the FBI believes it's already developed the evidence it needs to prove the substance of its case (that Team Prenda committed wire and/or mail fraud) and is just identifying as many victims as possible for potential witnesses and to establish the amount of damages. Bear in mind that under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the more money wrongdoers made, the more time they're facing.
