I love the picture. They look like 3 CPAs who broke into a wig shop after watching a Burt Reynolds marathon.

I heard a radio ad today promoting a concert from The Offspring that would be an "intimate acoustic set".

Is that a thing people are clamoring for? I mean, The Offspring are fun and all, but great musicianship is certainly not the first thing that springs to mind when I think of them. It's all about fast, catchy, 3-chord punk that I can jump around to.

Why on earth would I want to see an acoustic set? :?

I am not a very empathetic person. I am not completely void of empathy.
Does this make me a bad person?
I have no idea how to get to be empathetic.
I have read books telling me how I should feel about things. But I usually don't change my mind.

PS I wanted to add that I do feel empathy for animals I think it's just people I don't have much for.

If you understand and follow the conventions that make one a good person, then you are a good person, regardless of whether you are motivated by love or God or fear or whatever. You don't have to feel it to be it.

I can relate to this. I think it's because I refuse to put the weight of the world on my shoulders or feel guilty or bad about things that I had no part of. And I haven't read books on the subject, in fact I avoid them. My wife can cry watching the news, I just want to change channels.

I had planned to call my urologist today to schedule my 6 month post op appointment for next week. Instead I get up to a voicemail saying I have an appointment tomorrow at 10:30am. I cant go to that. Its going to be 28 degrees and the office is 30 miles from me. Id have to be up ready and out way early. I cant leave my little dog in that cold. I only have space heaters and cant leave them on.

So after a 20 minute hold I try to reschedule for next week. I have Tuesday and Wednesday as good days. Of course they say he is in surgeries those days. Maybe I can get in in Dec.UGH. After working they find me one for Wednesday and I can see a assistant instead. Sounds good.....oh wait thats at the office across town...another 15 miles. NOPE!

In the end I get a Dec 3 at 10:30am. Time still sucks and the weather may be even colder. If so Ill have to wait until spring to go. No big deal as its just a checkup. My 6 month may turn into a 10-12 month.

i wondered why i never got my 401(k) enrollment email. apparently i was supposed to receive that a month after i started working for the contract agency (and i've been with them now for almost eight months). i called Fidelity this morning and they told me that my contract agency 'never notified' them that i was no longer a 'new employee'. i wrote the HR dept at the contract agency and asked if this was so. they replied that Fidelity should have done this 'automatically' after 30 days 'but we manually changed it now'. sent them a response explaining that this was kind of a big oopsie on _someone's_ part and i really hope it doesn't happen to anyone else....

i'm disappointed this devolved to finger-pointing, but given my past history with this contract agency, i'm much more inclined to believe Fidelity's story. not like it really matters in the long run, as the agency does no matching at all until you've worked for them for two years - and then it's only 2%.

An iPhone 8 would run you $450, so it still works out to ~$150/year, and that would get you probably three years before updates are an issue.

And if that doesn't work you can have her contemplate this on the Tree of Woe.

The real issue is we don't think she will actually know how to use it. Her track record with flip phones has not been stellar, but she does have an ipad.
So, maybe?

Also, the entire purpose of this is so she can volunteer to count kettles at Salvation Army once a week.

NBC News
A Texas family said their homeowners' association put a damper on their holiday spirit by telling them to take down an inflatable snowman because it's too early for Christmas decorations.

Claudia Simonis, a resident of the Lakeside at Canyon Springs subdivision in San Antonio, told NBC News in a phone interview on Thursday that her family decorated their front yard on Nov. 1 with a large inflatable snowman, a reindeer and a Santa helicopter.

Days later, on Nov. 4, the neighborhood's homeowners' association, Diamond Association Management & Consulting, sent the family a letter saying the festive display was a violation and that the snowman needed to be removed.

For no apparent reason other than "I saw it on Kickstarter / Stacksocial" I decided to buy a Band-it, the multi-tool wallet. It's basically a hard piece of aluminum with some shockcord but it is slick and slimmer than the EZGo wallet I ordered... wow, back in 2015. And MUCH harder as you *can* use it as a multi-tool if you have to, and even comes with a two-sided screwdriver bit integrated as a pull tab, while I wait for my Kickstarter Excalibur wallet. ;)

Im still using the wallet my late father gave me back around 1992. Its leather and still in perfect condition. The little plastic photo holder in has had to be replaced at least 7 times though.

Dear vendor,

Thank you for your hard work over the years on our mobile app. And thank you for sending us new files to install on our system.

I do have one suggestion, however. Next time, could you send us the actual files instead of the HTML from their Bitbucket pages?

Sincerely,

Isgrimnur

About 10 years but he didn't die from that. As far as I know his prostate was never a trouble again. He was 76 when he died of an aneurysm. Those tend to run in his side of the family. His mom and brother also had them.

IDK what those numbers mean, but most men with prostate cancer will live long enough to die of something else. It's usually pretty tame, as cancer goes. There are prominent counterexamples, of course.

F--- cancer

In that same period of time they have probably changed the product name you were inquiring about at least 6 times, though. It balances out. :)
