Trimming The Bushes To Make The Tree Look Taller

Courtesy of Gillette.

You can learn anything on the Internet. Even new euphemisms.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.

I didn't realize that there was a market for this information.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Ditto. But as a wise woman said, what's the point of *looking* bigger?

Somebody -- uh, a friend -- who did it once because a hot woman asked him to -- said that the problem is that you've got to keep trimming the undergrowth regularly, or the stubble drives you batshit crazy with itching.

Or something. I don't know. I wasn't really paying attention to, uh, this guy.

The itching goes away after a few days. It is annoying though. The other option is to not completely clear the weed wacker to the underbrush, but rather trim back to a very short length.

Just like with any yard work, good equipment helps keep the yard looking nice. As well as being informed on how to take care of your lawn.

It seems to me that it would be better to let some grass grow rather than go scorched earth.

I've never found this necessary since I have the equivalent of a Redwood rising out of a small patch of bonsai trees.

I feel like I should mention something about fertilizer making grass and weeds grow but I don't think I will.

Horse shit and dead fish do wonders for growing trees and keeping them healthy. If your tree is young and isolated, you'll want to be careful about pests. Bunnies like to sharpen their teeth on the bark and a tree with no bark is going to die. Putting chicken wire around your young tree is a prudent move. And nothing is grosser than those caterpiller infestations, so make sure you spray your tree.

Also keep in mind that if you let your bushes grow, while the neighbors might not like your landscaping, they are an excellent way to keep the sun off your house, keeping your utility bills lower.

But I hate landscaping in general. I need to move down to the dry south and get rock garden.

Well, I agree with dead fishing helping the tree grow tall and strong, but horse shit? That's some kinky stuff.

I still prefer the shaving the boys thread of old over this new one. Oh and let me just say if you take to trimming the bushes nothing beats the Norelco Bodygroom Shaver.

I searched the forum for bansai since it is a recent hobby I have gotten into. And Yellowking's reply is at the top of the list.
