Yeah I don't think that took anyone by surprise, only the means could be a surprise.

Well, your idea assumes facts not in evidence
Spoiler:
You assume if her people fight Negan, Rick's alliance will win. It's more like in The Godfather when Tessio turns on Michael(spoiler alert), he did it because he didn't think Michael could win. She joined the side that 'made a better deal'. That's the winning side obviously. So I understood that exchange to mean she wanted 12 people as payment.
I'm thinking she'd get to pick and her plan is to turn them into Heapsters. I think Negan's okay with that because the people suitable for that are not the ones Negan wants to keep for himself.

It wasn't Judith that he was referring to. The cry was supposed to be a bad ending to the struggle on the sniper ledge.

Really? I could have sworn that was a baby's cry. I must be getting old and my hearing is going.

But that does make more sense.
It was Judith. She was crying in outrage at the situation.. She was the secret sniper on the grassy knoll...

They made a point of showing the women up on the balcony overlooking that area, then showed a fight up there, then showed Michonne being held back over the balcony, then later the scream and someone falling. I can't imagine how that sequence is confusing.

If you read the comics it paralleled the fight sniper Andrea (who is Rick's lover in the comic) had during Rick's first attempt on Negan when she was in the tower and got jumped. Instead of seeing a body fall in the distance they heard a scream

It's not that I don't understand the sequence of events, or forgot the placement of the players. It's just that I honestly thought that sounded like the cry of a baby when I heard it. It didn't sound adult to me.

But as I said, I'm old and probably should be put in a home.

It's probably confusing because Judith went from being 6 months old to a 4 year old rather fast. Speaking of which, I read a rumor this morning suggesting that there might be a "time jump" in Season 8. More specifically, it might not pick up exactly where it ended.

I'm beginning to think this show might be on the air long enough for Judith to progress from a prop to a character.

Judith looks 2 to 3 years old in Sundays episode.

I know there is a time lapse between Negan and the next events in the comics. That's not really a spoiler is it?

yeah, I mean it's kind of obvious they had to skip a few years for Judith to be old enough to become one of Negan's wives...

Judith? Did you people not see Herschel?! Maggie and Glen's little baby that was still in her belly when the entire Glen meets Lucille happened? He looked like he is 4 or 5 already. Its the stress of living in a world filled with the undead. It ages them prematurely.

Production halted due to stuntman falling 30 feet onto concrete and hitting his head. He has no brain activity and family is going to take him off life support.

The show must be in trouble if we can't even be bothered to talk about the season premiere that happened 5 days ago. :D

I've gotten hooked on the "Fear" spinoff show, and find myself not caring about these characters and their repetitive story arcs anymore. Other than a few core characters, I can scarcely remember who's dead and who's alive from one season to the next. I spent half of the season premiere thinking "Oh yeah, THAT happened," or "Oh, she's still alive? What's her name again?"

And yet, I keep watching. I just don't look forward to it anymore. It didn't help that my DVR recorded six "new episodes" that turned out to be extended commercials. Deleted all of those unwatched.

I need to watch Fear one of these days. I'm just in on Walking Dead at this point to see how the story plays out vs. the comics, and what the eventual series finale will entail.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan really has to stop doing that weird thing with his arm that makes him look like he's lost all use of one side of his body. Watch the factory balcony scene. It's just annoying. :snooty:

Considering they were kicking off another season and they set up this big fight, it was incredibly disappointing. Is there some reason every one of Negan's people, except Dwight and maybe Eugene, wasn't shot right then and there? Rick's 'no one has to die' except Negan, yeah I get it. But if you can wipe the leadership all out at once, why not? Which makes me wonder, if you're Negan and holed up in a fortress, why do you come out where they can kill you? Remember how utterly merciless he used to be? Now he chats with those who defy him most. Not what I had hoped for.

An hour of a bunch of people we don't particularly care about trading gunfire with another bunch of people we don't particularly care about, except we're supposed to root for the first group since they're "Rick's people". Is this what we have to look forward to for the rest of the season?

And why aren't more of the gunshot victims turning?

Last two weeks I have told my wife, Sure they are going to return the guns to Seaside but they are going to have to say "Sorry, there is no more ammo for the guns." They may want to be a bit more tactical with their firing technique. Spray and pray is not the way to go in a limited resources world.

When TWD started I thought I'd never hear myself say, I can't wait until they wrap this all up, but I'm getting to the point where I hope it only goes a season or two more at the most.

That sums it up pretty well. Or as I told Wife, "An hour of gun porn that didn't move the story forward at all." OK, Americans love gun fantasies so it was probably a popular episode. But are they really going to spend a half season tracking down and killing Negan?

They did spend an entire season just not showing negan, and another thinking about doing something about him.

The first three hours of this season have been one extended gun battle. Not my kind of entertainment, but they did telegraph a war coming, and wars do tend to feature a lot of gunplay, so I suppose they're delivering what they promised. From the previews it looks like they might start moving the story forward again in E4. I hope; I don't know if I will sit through another hour of shooting.

The last episode was interesting in that it presented the stuff we've already seen in a different way. But I honestly don't know how much longer this show can survive. This has easily been the worst set of episodes for any season ever - including when they were hanging out at Herschel's farm.

E4 is the best of the season, by far. In fact, the opening scene is one of the best of the whole series.

I saw a preview for the upcoming crap fest called Rampage during Justice League earlier this week. It includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I've come to the conclusion that he's just going to play Negan in every future endeavor he undertakes.
