Ranch does not belong on cold breakfast food. After that we can negotiate. Most things that you can put cheese on, you can dip in ranch.

I got nothing on yellowish ranch. Nor do I intend on ever having experience on that subject.

When I was a kid my Mom used vinegar as punishment for "naughty words". I'd get a big ol' soup spoon thrown in my mouth and my jaws held shut until I swallowed.

Now I drink a shot of vinegar every morning. Fuck you Mom!

Golden raisins add a unique sweetness in...um, something that I make occasionally. Can't remember what right now, but they're just right for it. Don't condemn all of raisinkind if you haven't had the golden kind.

Or, I'm at 210 if you count cauliflower and eggplant as 100 each, as seems appropriate.

The actual silly pics get a smirk, the list requires a response... particularly when we learn one of our mods hates vinegar. Hell, he probably thinks hot dogs should be boiled too!

A boiled hot dog is just fine. You need to start with the right hot dog though. A Ball Park Frank is going be an ucky bit of bologna in tube that needs to drowned in condiments no matter which way you cook it. You need a high quality natural casing dog, preferably from Koegel or Dearborn. If you can't get high quality natural casings locally, then Vienna will do in a pinch if you must. Something like Nathan's is OK if you absolutely have no choice and have a craving and need a substitute and can settle. Going anything less than Nathan's and no thanks. As much as I would like to be nine again, I'm not.

I'm 0 on the Do Not Eat List. I have not had snails but if a chef prepares them the way they should be, why not? Of all the things I have seen people eat, the hardest time I would have would be chicken feet. Something about that just creeps me out.

I use to be a very picky eater but being the youngest of 5, my parents could care less. "He will eat it if he gets hungry enough". I use to eat cereal dry even growing up on a dairy farm. Just did not like the texture. I think this all changed when I started cooking as a teenager and learning about food. Almost nothing is off the table for me now.

Hotdogs in super hot water is so 70s. Nuke is the only acceptable flavor saving way to cook a hotdog.

I'm debating between two responses to this.

Snarky:

It's a shame you've never had a good hot dog.

Sincere:

They're different and all are good for different reasons and different occasions. None are inherently inferior to any others.
