Haven't had oysters in years so don't know if I can still eat them or not; I can still eat very limited quantity of crab, so I don't avoid it in sushi completely.

1 - I don't do blue cheese. I tend to avoid mayo and avocados to but neither one would stop me from ordering something. Blue cheese will.

I used to love grapefruit in any form. Now that I have switched meds it might be ok to eat it again but I haven't seen it around here and I can get good oranges so I haven't been missing grapefruit. I guess I've just trained myself not to miss it.

Red Juices can be cranberry or blends, blends that usually contain strawberries. Strawberries are on the do not fly list. I have seen grapefruit juice at breakfasts but it's usually pink for whatever reason and pink = grapefruit or lemons which are both on the do not fly list, so I don't have to ask.

What's strange to me is that I can barely detect a hint of vinegar in ketchup, which is overwhelmingly sugar. In fact, I usually eat fries with mustard because ketchup is just too sweet (and the kind found in restaurants is corn syrup -- a whole different rant).

Ranch should look like that. You figure buttermilk, sour cream, and mayo is going to be thick. If it runs like water, then you're missing out. You should be able to stand your fries in a good ranch dressing.

One of the peculiarities of my FIL's dementia is that he really likes to put creamy salad dressing on his non-salad food.

Not oatmeal or sandwiches, of course, but if there's dressing on the table, he'll add a little to his pasta or his broiled salmon or his meatloaf.

Honestly, I'm tempted to try it. I think he might be on to something.
