I hate to be this picky, but... if those "ranges" are accurate then they're missing the incredibly important point that a baby spends most of its waking time not looking out from a crib but being held in someone's lap and close to their face.

I didn't take it be about bonding but about a baby's eyes continuing to develop after birth for nearly another year. Though our eyes are open they aren't much better than animals who dont open theirs for a few weeks even.

This is more of an example of 1) Cops not really knowing the law and making it up as they go, 2) Someone not really knowing the law and working with what the cops say, and 3) Some dickhead from an art show ruining everyone's fun.

If 1 or 2 was resolved, 3 wouldn't have been an issue. The cops could have shown up, said everything looked okay, and left if they knew they didn't have to shut it down. The parent could have researched the statute and shown it to the cops when they arrived and offered to shut it down if they still felt it was necessary after reviewing it.

We've always been subject to snickering dickheads in the corner, breaking good things and exploiting loopholes.

This photo, which comes courtesy of the Hamilton Township Fire Department, (New Jersey?) shows a car parked in front of a fire hydrant. The car's windows were smashed by the firefighters and a large hose threaded through them, so that a nearby fire may be fought.

I swear, people who drive "Luxury Vehicles" in NJ are a goddamn plague. They either drive and park like complete and utter a-holes, or are so overly cautious that they cause traffic for miles around them by going WAY under the speed limit, breaking for people coming out of side streets that have stop signs, stopping short for EVERYTHING, etc, etc etc.
Look, NJ is WAY over crowded. It is getting so bad that finding parking in areas that once had abundant parking is impossible. It doesn't help that most "families" living in small homes have 3, 4, even 5 cars but I don't entirely blame them. Not having a car in NJ is almost a no-go. Our mass transit system, unless you are going to NYC or Philly, is non-existent. So, even commuters, who don't use a car during the week, still have to have one to do stuff like laundry, food shopping, and the like. It doesn't matter how expensive or crowded it gets people still keep coming to live here because it is where the jobs are. Of course, the jobs don't pay enough to offset the cost of living here between sky-high taxes, overpriced rent, ridiculous car insurance rates, and just general "the cost of living here". You have to earn about $46,000/year to afford a one-bedroom apartment. Most jobs pay WAY less than that. A minimum wage earner would have to work 106 hours a week to make that and that's in a piss-poor neighborhood where you would fear for your life going to the corner bodega. So, some people who work opposite schedules share a one-bedroom or they just pack 4-5 people in a one-bedroom. Not to mention the health hazards of living here. For example, one of the places I used to play as a kid and catch garter snakes is now a superfund site. In short, NJ, don't come here and don't stay here if you can at all avoid it. *end rant
