A woman swimming in the San Francisco Bay early Thursday became the latest person to be attacked by sea lion, as the spate of attacks in the area continued.

The San Francisco Fire Department said the incident happened around 7 a.m. when the woman was bit on the knee while swimming at Aquatic Park. A retired fire paramedic was also swimming in the area at the time and witnessed the attack, fire officials said.

Three swimmers were attacked around the same area in the space of a week last month, which led to the temporary closure of Aquatic Park Cove to swimmers.

In one of the incidents a man was taken to a trauma center with non-life threatening injuries after he was bit in the groin, according to KTVU.

Seal finger

A young girl who was pulled underwater by sea lion in Canada is now receiving treatment for an infection known as "seal finger," just to be on the safe side, according to news sources.

Okay Okay.... I said "When his head was in the tank" for a reason...

I mean, it's not that they weren't getting close to the creature - it's that their choice of beating technique sucked....

They seem to give it a break each time it put's its head in the tank, and then hit it when it's head is up. Leverage - shove his back end off the boat.... it's killing me....

As someone who has actually been in a shoving match with a sea lion, I can tell you that one is at least 800 lbs.

Even a month's worth of martial arts training means you'll have already kicked it off before you realize you were thinking about it. And if that didn't work, a good ol' leg press probably would. Sea Lions are probably a little slippery and unstable on the edge of a boat like that.
