IMO

From what I can gather, it looks like people are leaning toward it being her fault. Seems like she arrived only 20 minutes before the show and did not make it to the rehearsals...
Partially his fault for the gate slam, but I would agree that if she committed to this, she should have made the rehearsals. (She is a pop idol and had a busy schedule)

IMO

With respect, your opinion is mistaken. His beats were:

torch the baseplate
slam the gate (which failed to stay shut because force of slam exceeded strength of magnets)
stage right jaunt
stage left jaunt
Pull waiting coverlet over front of cage
Gesticulate magically
Withdraw coverlet to reveal flame has become girl

Her beats were

Wait for cue-- the coverlet is down
Push false cage back forward to extinguish baseplate flame
Scoot forward and prepare to smile/wave as coverlet is withdrawn

She missed her cue.

I stand corrected. But I do wonder if he was off too (not just the door failing to close) and perhaps he was supposed to pull the coverlet before the jaunting? Probably your staging is right...
But yeah... either way, they were not ready. I guess I am not clear on what her 'actual' cue was (to know the cover was down)

The only way she could have known when to go is based on the sound of the cage door shutting. She can't see if the curtain is down. They was a miscommunication on how long after the signal she needs to wait. I can't imagine that it could ever work that quickly after the gate closing as he needs to pull the curtain down AFTER it's closed. So my guess is she and she alone screwed up.
