To be fair, adolescent power fantasy tripe is way easier to write than absurd existential horror, and every community has got to start somewhere... right?
Unless one loses a precious thing, he will never know its true value. A little light finally scratches the darkness; it lets the exhausted one face his shattered dream and realize his path cannot be walked. Can man live happily without embracing his wounded heart?

Given the hysteria over Trump's immigration EO's, it seems appropriate that today's doodle is for Fred_Korematsu.
an American civil rights activist objecting to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Shortly after the Imperial Japanese Navy launched its attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, which authorized that all individuals of Japanese ancestry were to be removed from their homes and forced to live in internment camps, but Korematsu instead challenged the orders and became a fugitive.

I read up on him too after seeing him of Google Doodle. He was quite a guy. Competing with men when he was ten years old.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Kiyoshi Kuromiya featured in the Google Doodle over the weekend. When I first started working in health communications in the late 90s, he was a prominent figure in AIDS education and advocacy. An important leader with a real legacy, but not the kind of guy you expect to see celebrated on a national platform. It's really great to see him remembered.
