It's not exactly zero regret. He does apologize. Then he says he'd do everything the same. So... I dunno how you measure regret. Is this a 1? 1 regret?
As for stating "it was God's plan" - that's just an assholish thing to say about someone's death.
I saw Matt Lauer's interview with Trayvon's family this morning on the Today show, and I was sort of astounded at how he seemed to take all of what Zimmerman's side has said as fact. He asked Trayvon's family (paraphrased): knowing what we know now, that he confronted Zimmerman, that there was a struggle for the gun, do you accept his apology?
I don't think we can say definitively that we know there was a struggle for the gun, or who confronted whom. I don't believe that's been settled. And to hear Lauer just accept those assertions as fact sort of took me aback.
