I hate that it got cancelled, but I don't know that I'd want it back now. People change, nostalgia builds. Would it live up to our impossible expectations? Better to have loved and lost and all that.

Maybe - but a series set X number of years after the events in Serenity, exploring what happened once the secret was revealed, could be veddy veddy interesting... The Alliance does not seem like the type to forgive and forget.

As much as I love Castle, I find myself hoping that this season (Starting Monday!) is the last one. With Kate and Richard hooking up at the end of the last season they can no longer drag out the "Will they or won't they" angle which was pretty much at the end of it's rope anyway.

Get them together, solve the murder of her mother, wrap everything up with a season finale and celebrate a good five year run on an excellent show.

That would have the added benefit of freeing up Nathan for a Ten Years Later revival of Firefly. :)

Alan Tudyk is the only one who would be hard to justify bringing back.

Why? nothing happened to Wash that would prevent. Nothing at all. They are all fine actually. Bring them back I say. I love Castle but Mal never shoots anyone. Mal needs to shoot people.

Seriously? You do know this is science fiction, don't you? Bringing back Wash would be easy.

And today is the day the unofficial follow-up (not really, but it gives a huge nod to Firefly) is out.

That picture would have worked better if Inara and Kaylee switched places. Same with Wash and Jayne.

No dis (diss?) intended. They just needed to put Kaylee with Simon, Inara with Mal, and Zoe with Wash. Makes more sense that way.

Hey Netflix: It’s Time to Bring Back Firefly
ALL RIGHT, NETFLIX and Amazon and Vimeo and every other streaming service out there are hungry for original content: It’s time to stop screwing around and give Firefly the second season it deserves.

This past weekend at New York Comic Con, the majority of the cast was on hand for a reunion panel, and 3,000 honorary crewmembers of the good ship Serenity packed in to watch the most beloved TV stars in the ‘verse trade anecdotes (Nathan Fillion is a thief) and express their desire to do a second season of the cult favorite show … if they could just get the chance.

Before the X-Files six episode run was announced, I would have thought it to be impossible. Now that we'll actually be seeing that happen in January, I do think it's possible Amazon or Netflix has the juice to make a Firefly relaunch actually work.

I'm not sure how you could do it though. Wash and Book are dead. Without them, I'm not sure I would enjoy it as much. An ensemble lives and dies on its chemistry, and those two were an essential ingredient.

And you couldn't just do a prequel to the movie as some of the actors do look a bit older now.

There's a 6-month timeline gap between the end of Firefly ("Objects in Space") and the events in Serenity. Cast appearance aside, seems like they could pretty easily fit something in there. Maybe even tie into some of what happens in the comic books.

They could, and probably would (if they had a chance to do a new season) do it without Wash or Book (aside possibly from a few flashback sequences). Yes, they were great characters and played well off the others, but they're still just parts of the overall ensemble. If you had the others, and the key writers (especially Whedon) the show would still be great.

Though admittedly Book's absence in particular would suck, because he would have been a great vehicle to explore the government / federation/ whatever the hell it was called. Maybe replace him with the enforcer guy from Serenity, as I would think you could do similar things with him.

But I want the Preacher's backstory! Much was hinted at - absolutely nothing was explained.
