[TV] The Blacklist
That was surprisingly good. I've always liked Spader and he nails it as a Moriarty of sorts. I also like the numerous mysteries they've introduced in only the premiere episode.
He won. Period.

I've got it DVRed - I'm a big Spader fan as well. This one made a lot of the "Best Fall Shows" lists so it should be worth a shot.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
I'm only half way through watching the pilot, but I think this show kicks ass already.
She is obviously his daughter and I am cool with that. I have read some articles where it suggested if she was that was too simple and would suck. I disagree already, I would be dissapointed if it isn't his daughter.

While they havent come right out and said it, its pretty clear that she is Red's daughter. So clear, that any other result would be deceptively manipulating the audience and come off as cheap writing. She is obviously his daughter and I am cool with that. I have read some articles where it suggested if she was that was too simple and would suck.
Well do you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense?
Or that everybody's on the stage and it seems like you're the only person sitting in the audience?

I'd love to catch up on this, but for some reason On Demand has the pilot available then the next available episode is #6.

He is having so much fun, and is so damn good at it. I recently saw that the James Bond/Thunderball/Spectre/Blofeld issues had finally been resolved and that Ernst Stavro Blofeld can be used in Bond movies again.rshetts2 wrote:Yep, Spader is rocking the role.Pyperkub wrote:Took me awhile to catchup, but wow! Spader would be an amazing Blofeld.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Sadly, that is slightly above my desired pricepoint of free. I guess I can wait until the whole season comes to Netflix, but it would be nice to watch over the winter lull. Maybe I'll watch the pilot and if it really grabs me, I'll cave and buy the missing eps or see if they are on Hulu or something.Isgrimnur wrote:Amazon has it for purchase.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Damn it! I had Castle and Archer on higher priorities on the DVR, which is old and can only record two streams, so we missed Blacklist tonight. I pushed Blacklist up above Archer (since Archer will rerun multiple times, so it will catch it later), but I guess we'll have to watch this week's episode online.
That's my purse! I don't know you!

Spader gave me goose pimples this week.
Can't wait for the next episode. Even Alan Alda has a role I can enoy him in.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Just watched the first 2 episodes.
Excellent start, Spader is great, not so sure on the female lead. LIke th efactt he story lines h ave some twists so far and dont follow standard convention.
Hoping to watch a couple more tonight as I have 12 episodes recorded.
Is the US still on season 1, i just series linked it here in the uk and it recorded 12 episodes?

jeebus, they came out swinging, didn't they? Kind of wish they'd kept going down this story's road for a while longer though. When I put down the iPad and start paying attention, I know it's good.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Hmm, many episodes back Keen has a DNA test done on Red to see if he's her father and there isn't a match. Flash forward to the last episode and you have a character called The Alchemist that specializes in changing DNA to spoof tests. Very interesting...
Black lives matter!

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Damn, shit is getting crazy real now.
Kind of really pissed because I wanted to see the US DA get his due, maybe he will yet, or at least I hope so. He does seem like he would fit right in as an Attorney General frigging crooks.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
Spader is just so damned entertaining in this role. He has to be absolutely loving playing Red.
I dont really care for the actress playing Agent Keen but her storyline is starting to look like one hell of a crazy mess. The connections between Lizzie and Red have been a bit fuzzy but Im almost certain youre correct in your spoiler, Rip.

We ended up binge-watching this after being about 8 episodes behind on the DVR. Really enjoying it though. I've always loved James Spader and this role is tailor-made for his brand of smug smarminess.

Re: [TV] The Blacklist
I loved when they flashed in dramatic fashion in the preview for next week "RED...WAS...RIGHT".
Also I wonder in the episode before this week's if James Spader was working off a script or ad libbed in the scene in the embassy basement where Lizzy was tied to a chair and Red acting "fabulous".

Good episode but I was hoping the main plot-line would be advanced further. Not sure how I am going to make it till the next episode.

What is it with puppets?
Puppets and clowns.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, it gets WAY better.
I'm loving the new direction "nobody's fool" Elizabeth Keen. I didn't really care that much for the character early on but I think I may be in love with her post transformation.
In honor of that I give you this!

Loved the way Red gets other people to resolve things for him.
