Jack White, Wayfaring Stranger
Blanche have a bunch of covers like that (and I believe Jack White performs on that song among others) but their best is a cover of "Running with the Devil" Sadly I can find it online. If you get a chance check out If We Can't Trust the Doctors and keep listening for "Running With the Devil" as the album ends.

As a consolation I give you Junkyard Dogs doing "Breaking the Law"

Ok, well I'm breaking the rules of my own thread. Personally I find a good cover is when a band adds their own twist to a song. So, not to say anything bad about REM's version of End of the World, but I happen to really like Great Big Sea's version:

So, inspired by LM's above post...here is MY FAVORITE cover off The Junkyard Dog's Good Livin' Platter album.

It's a Hoyt Axton song called Lightning Bar Blues and it goes through my head all the time...

Speaking of Toots... this rendition of Radiohead's "Let Down" with Easy Star All Stars is quite superior to the original, imo

Also nice. I love New Orleans Jazz covers and I don't know why. I got the double bonus when Florence Welch did a New Orleans Jazz cover of "Not Fade Away", which is one of my three favorite songs of all time.

Yeah, that's totally awesome. I feel they've been killing it lately.

Here's another one of my recent favourite of theirs. Their cover of Ariana Grande's 'Problems':

And their cover of Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off':

I feel like I'm pissing in your Cheerios and I apologize for that but I had a huge excited  when I saw your post based on Trent's past covers and this just didn't have the magic for me from songs like "Get Down Make Love" or my personal favorite "Physical (You're too)". I'm probably just getting too damned old.

It definitely isn't for everyone, Mort. I haven't been into Trent's music for some time now. Downward spiral was his last good album, IMO. I've always seen him as trying to revive the magic that was Pretty Hate Machine and never succeeding. We're all entitled to our opinions.

On another note, here is another cover that I first heard when the band opened up for Rob Zombie about 9 or 10 years ago. I was the only one that cheered when they announced the song.
