You've got a week. Make it work. :horse:
Having gone through that a year or so ago, I think that you can safely skip the last season. Probably the last two seasons. That should help speed things up. :D

:coffee: Netflix is getting rid of Buffy, Angel, Arrested Development and more in April
If you use Netflix primarily to watch TV shows, you may want to binge as much of it as you can right now.

Netflix released the list of titles coming to and leaving the service next month, and while Polygon will compile those lists as we do every month, we thought it was especially important to point this out.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Arrested Development, Firefly, Ally McBeal, The X-Files, Roswell and House are the bigger, more notable shows being tossed aside in April. Every single season from each show will no longer be available to stream, with the exception of Arrested Development’s fourth season, which will remain due to it being a Netflix exclusive.
I don't understand...Buffy hasn't been available on Netflix for the last year or so. I did a search for it the other day and it didn't even show up. I'm confused.

A little late to the party but we're bingeing on episodes of The Flash on Netflix. It's a fun show and glad the wife and daughter seem to like it.

The Flash is pretty great. It doesn't take itself too seriously and has some surprisingly decent effects for a CW show.

The cast seem to have a good chemistry so the dialogue doesn't sound too stilted or ridiculous. Can't wait to catch up with the current season. Don't seem to be missing much by not watching Arrow.

Watched Gantz:0 a few weeks ago. Interesting animation, confusing story (which isn't a problem in this one). But what really has me thinking about it weeks later are the monsters. Nightmarish in a Bosch garden of earthly delights kind of way infused with that unique Japanese gore-porn when they are inevitably killed. Guns don't shoot them, they make their heads explode as they walk away or bring down gravity cylinders to smash everything under them to a pulp.

Season 11 of Trailer Park Boys showed up a few weeks back. I was honestly going to skip it as season 10 was a freakin' mess of unfunny stunt casting. I had thrown in the towel on the show after that. But someone recommended I give season 11 a try. And I'm glad I did. This is close to the early days of Trailer Park Boys in terms of funny. I almost spit up my drink during episode 2 thanks to Bubbles taking umbrage with a legendary local weed grower and the follow up, confusing diatribe from Ricky about the reasons porpoises are probably the victims of frequent sexual assault by other sea creatures.

It also has my new favorite Ricky-ism (the character has issues with malapropism):

Keep your friends close, but get your enemies toasters.
He won. Period.

I recently got around to watching Turbo Kid on Netflix, and found it most enjoyable. For those unfamiliar, it's basically a retro-futuristic nostalgic tribute to 1980s action-adventure B-movies. Set in the ultraviolent post-apocalyptic year of 1997, a teenaged comic book fan adopts the persona of his favourite hero to save the mysterious and quirky girl of his dreams from the tyrannical warlord, Zeus (played by the inimitable icon of countless 80's classics, Michael Ironside). Suffice it to say, it manages to combine innocent kid-stuff action with the kind of outlandish gore typical of VHS video nasties in a surprisingly amusing pastiche, much like a movie-equivalent of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Anyway, if it sounds like it might be up your alley (particularly if, like me, you grew up in the eighties, and enjoyed the works of Michael Ironside), I highly recommend watching this while it's available on Netflix. It's really quite well done, and great silly fun.

I finished watching Here Alone. I hadn't heard anything about it prior to watching it. I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's a pretty fresh take on the whole Zombie genre in that it focuses mostly on one woman surviving alone in the woods. I don't think you even see a zombie until about half way through the movie. Suffice it to say it's a more serious zombie movie with above average acting and decent directing. It's worth a watch.

Also of note is that if this movie were made 10 years ago it would have no doubt been a pov lost film style of movie. Thank god it isn't, instead it feels like you are watching a quality film rather than someone's shitty home videos.

My friend recommended the Australian women prison drama series, Wentworth, and I am liking it a lot. It is gritter than Orange is the New Black, more like Oz, I would say. The cast, so far, is pretty solid and things move along at a good pace.

Binged on Last Chance U and Ozark this week. Enjoyed both.

Last Chance U
Spoiler:
Apparently, winning the state championship is a disappointing season.
Ozark:
Spoiler:
  1. It seemed like an obvious play to link the local heroin growers with the Mexican cartel. Not sure why he waited until the last episode.
  2. How does that white FBI agent have a job? The flashback episode showed him as a flunky not respected by his boss. Now he gets to run solo operations, moving from IL to MS to chase down a lead?
  3. Wouldn't having sex with your informant compromise their validity or worth?
  4. So annoying that the wife figures out Marty's password by using the magazine label. Someone in Marty's position would not have a guessable password and wouldn't have a folder labeled after his wife's lover. That's like having a folder called "porn" on your hard drive. :shifty:
  5. Who signs over their entire $900k nest egg to some random dude you just met?
  6. I can't decide if I love or hate the Ruth character. At least she has had the biggest character arc development so I am leaning towards liking her.
  7. Happy to see Rebecca(?) the owner of the Boat/bar/lodge business take a bag of money and run. Not overly greedy, and rationale to avoid further entanglement. I hope she gets away.

Just noticed the entirety of the amazing Toast of London is up. If you love absurd humor, this should be one of your first stops. I can't stress how eccentricly genius this show is.

Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandango!
He won. Period.

Making my way through Season 7 of Walking Dead and Season 4 of BoJack Horseman.

The Marc Maron comedy special was surprisingly good. Sadly I could relate to much of his humor. His bit about getting free Rolling Stones tickets is a perfect example of how I relate to social events.

If that made you laugh (and I'm assuming you weren't being facetious :) ), the Jon Hamm episode in season 3 will cause you to lose consciousness.

The "Yes I can hear you, Clem Fandango!" line is a running gag throughout the entire series. I really hope the amazingly funny Matt Berry returns for a season 4. But he has a tendency to quit while something's hot.

If you've never had the pleasure of seeing him in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, you should check it out on youtube (I think they have the entire series available to watch...which is like 6 episodes total). If you're not humming One Track Lover by the end of the show's run, you're not human.

Not facetious at all, I was literally guffawing while sipping my coffee and watching it. I'm pretty easy, comedy-wise. :P

Oh shit. I just found the supercut of the Clem Fandango gag - never even seen the show and just the back to back of this is hilarious:

I actually thought that guy was Jemaine Clement at first, then Mike Myers. Is he some virtual British mashup of those two? Wow...the likeness of both, really, is stunning.

Are you talking about the actor who plays Clem Fandango? Or Matt Berry as Steven Toast?

I first came across him in Garth Marenghi's Dark Place on Adult Swim. Then I hunted down his work in The IT Crowd and Snuff Box (a skit comedy show on BBC). When Dan Harmon (of Community and Rick and Morty fame) started raving about how great Toast of London was during its first season, I found them on YouTube and quickly became a fan.

If you start watching Toast of London, be warned it can be VERY absurd. Oftentimes you'll be scratching your head trying to figure out what the hell is going on, but just as often you'll eventually just laugh at the sheer audacity of it all.
