It's not like the show went from A+ to C. I'd give last season an A-.
I think it all comes down to Kim for me in season 5. I just don't get her motivations most of the time. She seems to have become a different person without any explanation. I'm hoping season 6 has a major reveal that explains it all though. Much like they did with Chuck in season 1. We had no clue as to why he was such a jerk to Jimmy at times...until we finally got a better look at how Jimmy treated everyone when he was a kid. Then it all started to fall into place.

What is happening. Didn’t we just complete Season 5?
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

I thought this was one of the better seasons, but then again I thought there were times in the first few seasons that were a bit slow. I didn't have that issue at all with this season and the writing and acting are just as good as before.

I was thinking of another show while writing that and wrote down THEIR number of seasons by accident. Whoops.

I think the seemingly non-sequitur opening from one of the final episodes where she was waiting for her mom to pick her up after school is a solid clue.

But as I noted before, that scene does the exact opposite of establishing Kim as weak willed. I think there's a scene AFTER that that we need to see to explain the polar opposite behaviour she exhibits towards Jimmy.

I think that would be the scene where Howard dresses her down.

I believe it demonstrates that from an early age her model for love/relationships is rooted in toxic behavior.

But it also demonstrates she refuses to let herself become a victim of such relationships.

I think there’s more to come on Kim’s background. At least I hope so.

Maybe. I think it reinforces the idea that her story is tragic. No matter how much good she does, she cannot escape toxic relationships. It's one of the reasons I really enjoy her character (and the actress' portrayal). She's definitely a multi-layered individual. There's clearly lots going on and I agree - we're going to learn more.

No Saul in 2021, unfortunately:
Although no dates have been set, the show’s final, 10-episode season will, per Sapan, likely arrive in the first quarter of 2022.

TMZ
Bob Odenkirk was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on the set of his show "Better Call Saul" ... and is still receiving medical care.

Production sources tell TMZ Odenkirk and cast were shooting in New Mexico Tuesday when the incident happened. We're told Odenkirk went down, and was immediately surrounded by crew members who called an ambulance.

We're told it's unclear if he was conscious when he was transported, but a source close to Odenkirk tells us he is still in the hospital under the care of doctors.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

The 58-year-old star of the Breaking Bad prequel series collapsed on the Albuquerque, New Mexico, set Tuesday. Crewmembers immediately surrounded him and called an ambulance.

I thought he was in his late 40s, to be honest. That’s still pretty young for a heart attack, I would think. But I’m no doctor.

So great to hear from him. I’m rarely on Twitter but I was refreshing the page that night looking for updates. Through many tweets, I did learn a lot about him and how nice a guy he is in general. We did watch Nobody last night and now I want to go and look for Mr. Show.

I *assumed* they meant by cath and stent rather than cracking his chest.

Let's talk about Mike (no spoiler). I just can't grasp that a person like Mike exists.

Mike is a bad guy. We may refuse to believe this because we like Mike, but he is a bad man. He's a hired gun working for the drug cartel and he kills people. And don't say he just kills bad guys, because he killed Werner. That makes him a bad guy.

However, he genuinely has a heart of gold and is the kind of person you can trust in almost any situation not involving his employment to do the right thing.

Are there really people like this in the world? This isn't like the Nazi prison guard who followed orders, but other than that seemed to be a sweetheart. Mike actively seeks employment where he's going to have to kill people so that his employer can sell drugs. I just can't wrap my head around this and it makes his character so appealing.

Mike has a set of skills that allow him to make money. But as effed up as that is, he also has a moral code of sorts - witness his refusal to use Nacho's father as leverage. And he is there for his family, at risk to himself. Maybe I missed something but what was not clear to me:
Spoiler:
Was he targeting Nacho with the sniper rifle to assure his death, but was not needed because Nacho took his own life, or was he in place to protect chicken man if the Salamancas attacked him?
