Well, now we've gotten enough to get to a new page. I will attempt to remember and post one trailer per post.

I appreciate your posting all these trailers. I watch almost every one.

From this batch, I'm looking forward to Hope Gap, because I'm a sucker for movies about old people; Irresistible, because Stewart and Carell; and The Booksellers, because I was one of those for 16 years, and if I'd stayed in that lane I'd eventually have wound up in the rarefied world of rare books.

I used to have a life dream of owning a large home library of all wood and a blazing fireplace with a couch and comfortable chair in front of it and just walls of books. Also always wanted to go to an old old book store and just spend day after day after week in it just looking and smelling.

Why are all the videos spoilered now? Im annoyed :)

Glad to be of assistance.

I'm paying AMC for their watch-all-you-want service, so I'm trying to keep track of stuff coming up so I can get my money's worth. My goal is 24 trips this year. I've got 2 with Star Wars and 1917.

Take a day trip down to the main public library and soak in it. It would probably do you good.

And they're spoilered to reduce the loading lag time when the page loads.

It's got nothing to do with connection speed, but how a browser will bog down if it tries to download everything at once. One or two videos is fine, but a whole page of them will slow things down. And consider that they're not static thumbnails. For every video, it has to load a script via the forum to generate those live clickable thumbnails to allow the trailer to be played within the thread. If you have a whole page of them, some with multiple videos per post, things will quickly add up. So please be considerate.

And besides, I feel the threads look cleaner and less cluttered via the use of spoiler tags and it only adds one extra step to viewing them.

I dont recall Firefox Quantum being slowed. Although I think it loaded everything then went back and added the videos title in.

Ill spoiler mine..still dont care for it that way though. Takes longer to simply peruse the videos. Ive almost stopped using the thread because of it.

I think it's partly to do with this particular forum style with each page viewed as a static page, rather than a dynamic one like Discourse (ie GT) where each posts in a thread are loaded only when you're scrolling through them and not loaded in memory all at once.

Well if Isg refrains from posting obscure movie trailers it wouldn't be so bad :P

For a couple of days there we had about a dozen videos openly posted in one or two threads, and it really did slow down the browser. I've got FIOS, and I still had to sit and wait while the thread got itself sorted.

Spoilering and offering one-video-per-post seems to help a lot.

Yep, it's not so much the speed of the connection, but rather that with so many videos, the browser easily gets overwhelmed. It's like trying to drink a milkshake quickly through a straw. The browser is somewhat bottlenecked by trying to do so many things at once, and even if you were to drink it quickly you might end up with brain freeze.

And speaking about connections, yes, believe it or not, not everyone has high-speed internet. For example, there are some parts within my city limits that due to its large size, are still on dialup because they're not getting the support needed for high-speed, and nor do the companies want to invest in upgrades to the locations as they see them as low-profit areas. And it only gets worse the more rural and further north you go. And I'm not even that far north.

And I think multiple videos per post would be fine as long as they're spoilered.

I haven't, either. Thought they were testosterone/gun porn/car chase/explosion movies. Halfway thru that trailer I figure I was right.

They are a very good example of what they are. And yeah, they are basically superheroes in fast cars now.

They aren't gun porn and explosions are rare considering what is going on. The rest is true though.
