I dont recall her. Sad though. But you have to go into that field knowing you can die any time and probably will.

She took over for Kari Byron when she was out on maternity leave.

She apparently helped when Kari went out on maternity leave at some point. I first thought this was about Scotti, the fabricator/welder they had with them in the first season but I don't think I was watching anymore when this woman was on. Still unfortunate.

I'm still trying to get my mind around this:
Combs was attempting to beat her previous record, and had attempted it as recently as last year, when she managed a 483.227 mph shakedown run before mechanical problems ended the attempt, as noted on the team’s bio page for Jessi.
Almost 500mph in a ground-based vehicle? That's...insane.

The world record is 763.035 mph and he broke the sound barrier..SONIC BOOM. And that was 1997. No one has beat it since.

I believe she actually was on the show before that. She just wasn't in every episode. She is in some of the very early shows IIRC.

Mythtern Jessie Nelson is who y’all are thinking of. She was in the Archimedes death ray episode as well as the whirlpool ship sinking episode.

Well, I was thinking of Scottie. I am pretty sure she was the one all tatted up in the early shows.

Just saw that this morning. Tragic, I've watched a lot of Mythbusters over the years. He was great on the show.

Way too young indeed.

I once heard that 1% of the population has an aneurysm, and each year there's a cumulative 1% chance for it to give out. Google, however, tells me 1 in 50 people in the US has a brain aneurysm (approx. 6.5 million) and each year 30,000 of them erupt. Scary thoughts all the way around regardless.

That's how my uncle died many many years ago. He was fine one minute and dead the next. Scary.

I was always under the impression that if you gotta go, this is the best way. You simply drop dead. I knew someone once whose father died of one and doctors said he was dead before he hit the floor.

Ruptured brain aneurym

Symptoms of a ruptured brain aneurysm usually begin with a sudden agonising headache.

It's been likened to being hit on the head, resulting in a blinding pain unlike anything experienced before.

Other symptoms of a ruptured brain aneurysm also tend to come on suddenly and may include:

~ feeling or being sick
~ a stiff neck or neck pain
~ sensitivity to light
~ blurred or double vision
~ sudden confusion
~ loss of consciousness
~ fits (seizures)
~ weakness on 1 side of the body or on any limbs

I got to meet Grant on one of the JoCo cruises, and he was just the nicest guy. He even wrote my son a postcard encouraging him to do well in science after we mentioned that Alex was a huge Mythbusters fan. Everyone I know who got to spend time with him talked about not how thoughtful and kind he was. He will be dearly missed.

Yeah, this one hurts real bad. I know there's selective editing in reality shows, but I never got the feeling that they had to edit in a nice personality for Grant. He was just a good dude.
