The former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.
I figure there might be a Rocky-lover or two in the boards that will take one for the team and let us know how it is. Given that there's almost no buzz less than a month out, I won't be betting on a blockbuster.
But if you're a true fan, you might want so see if you get Epix as a tv channel
A week before "Creed" opens in theaters on November 25, premium TV network EPIX announced today that it will air "From Rocky to Creed: The Legacy Continues," an exclusive presentation chronicling the 40-year story of the "Rocky" saga, on Wednesday, November 18 at 8PM ET/PT/7CT.
The one hour documentary tells the pugilistic love story from beginning to end directly through its creator, Sylvester Stallone, who was virtually unknown in 1976 when he persuaded producers and a major studio to let him star in the film he penned.
I don't know about this one but I enjoyed the last Rocky. It seemed like it wasn't just a money grab and took care of the characters and content. I was never a fanatic of the originals but am generally appreciative of Stallone as a writer.

Saw it and liked it. totally redeemed the Rocky franchise. Shows what happens when you have a talented director. He did awesome with Fruitvale Station and continued his excellent work here
Saw this on Amazon Prime the other day. I was disappointed. It was an okay movie, but I didn't need to see a copycat of the original Rocky movie. The reviews had been excellent, so I was ready to like this one.
The daughter of some friends was an extra, and they liked her so much that they cloned her during the fight scenes, even digitally changing her hair and clothes colors.

Same here. They rather boxed themselves into a corner (pun intended) --
Spoiler:
had the champ stayed down at the end, it would have been an eye-roller, instead we got the Rocky clone. Maybe they could have changed things up a bit if the champ remained dismissive of Baby Creed and not succumbed to the same Rocky/Apollo mutual respect trope from the original.
It's probably not a good sign that I can't remember much about this movie after viewing it less than a year ago. But whether that's damning of the movie, or my memory, I can't say.
I will watch it when I can get it on DVD from the library. Disappointing that the story line rehashes the past.

I watched Creed 2 on a flight this weekend. Man, what a disappointment.
The basic idea is shaky - revisiting the characters and events of Rocky IV - but there's some promise there, exploring the parallels and divergent paths of the different characters. The script takes advantage of none of this, and is a clunky and lazy mess.
I was honestly appalled at how much they aped the plot of Rocky IV, right down to the Dimitri Medvedev look-alike filling in for the original's Gorbachev look-alike.
