This thread reminded me that I haven't seen TGB post in some time - looks like he last visited us August 26.

Anyone know if he's OK?

Captain Caveman did a bit of sleuthing last week when he also became concerned about tgb being absent. He also hasn't posted on QT3 in awhile, I think. But it looked like his FB profile has been relatively recently updated, so maybe he's just taking a break from the forums?

The pictures looked like someone ran a garden hose through chitterlings. Clean as can be. Took a short nap afterwards and felt comfortable enough to start working on one of my cars by 1 PM. I drove to fill the tank shortly after against the prior advice of medical staff. I think they are being extremely overly cautious. I could of walked the 15 minutes home but they insist someone pick me up and drive me home. Unless the biopsy shows otherwise, it will be 10 years till I see them again.

No response to the text. Last time he was MIA (due to his ham bone being replaced) he responded right away.

So...what now? I hope for the best, but if it's the worst, I'm gonna need some closure.

I'll try calling the number when I have a chance and see if he (or someone) answers.

Jeff V, any update? I have been concerned about him for some time.

Science Alert
Between 6 and 8 million people worldwide suffer from inflammatory bowel disease, a group of chronic intestinal disorders that can cause belly pain, urgent and frequent bowel movements, bloody stools and weight loss.

New research suggests that a malfunctioning member of the patient's own immune system called a killer T cell may be one of the culprits. This discovery may provide a new target for IBD medicines.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Hmm I wonder if HIV patients ever have IBS then because isn't the T cell what HIV ravages?

Only 6-8 million people have IBD globally? That's like, less than people born with two heads. I'm surprised we've heard of it at all.

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg

I think the first time I ever really heard of it or found out how bad it could be was around 1999 or so. I mean Irritable Bowel doesn't sound dangerous. But I sold a pc monitor in the local paper and the guy that came by to buy and pick it up had it. He was talking about it. He seemed to be around my age at the time..30. Maybe even a bit younger. Saw where he died about a year or so later from it. Surprised me. Had no idea.
