Wow, that was an obscure reference to a Star Lord from days of old.

It took me a minute to recognize who the "band members" were but when they showed Batista, that gave it away. Hilarious!
Well do you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense?
Or that everybody's on the stage and it seems like you're the only person sitting in the audience?

Could have sworn they kept the Mary Poppins reference in the movie.

I just recently saw this movie and I agree. The first one was pretty good but this sequel is an improvement in every way. All the characters have good moments, that's rare to see. I would go so far as to say this movie is my favorite of the MCU to this point. I can't think of anything to nitpick! Even the secondary villains, who actually had damn good reason to be mad(good movie), were amusing.

I've got horrible news.
Spoiler:
James Gunn tweeted: First Groot is dead. Baby Groot is his son.

I was genuinely upset when I read this last night.

Edit to hopefully make formatting better.

I don't think it has been spelled out before. Many, myself included, assumed that Baby Groot was the same as First Groot.

But he was a sapling. At best it would be a clone or a graft.

(Some) tweets don't load in FF with the dark theme. I switched to Chrome for OO for that reason.

Son seems a bit off. Clone sounds better (to me), but he wrote it so whatever he wants I guess is the truth.

Yeah, I figured it was more of a clone type thing - maybe Baby Groot is his own entity but he does seem to have at least part of the consciousness of the original Groot (like, he didn't have to be re-introduced to the people that he supposedly already knew).

No, but I do know that if I push that damn thing over in the woods and then run off with my fingers in my ears while yelling at the top of my lungs, it doesn’t make a sound.

Well, it's how different apple varieties more or less taste the same. Every one of them is a clone.

Tossing this out: A clone is not identical to the source since the experience becoming an adult is different. There should be similarities in personality though.

(Not feeling well so just random thought)
