Tried watching a bit of the in-progress video on her Twitch channel, and it made my brain hurt. It was like a low-budget Japanese game show.

Yeah, her streams are tuned for audience participation, with a particular audience in mind. I (surprisingly) enjoy it live (albeit often just listening rather than actively watching), but wouldn't want to sit through a full archived stream. However, if you are interested in the process and seeing how a particular paint job evolves, you might like the time-lapse videos uploaded to her Youtube channel. Those collapse the 10-12 hour streams down to 7ish minutes or so.

I still don't believe it's true, even after watching the parts of the live stream.. Just looks too good.. I remember the first time I saw a picture of her (can't remember the character) and thought, that's a pretty good drawing, then when I clicked the link, I was like oh cool.. It's an animation.. Then when I realized it was body paint, my first thought was, meh.. must be faked.

She mentioned in today's stream that she does use pasties. My understanding is that they're expensive, so maybe the DIY solution is for those that need to do it on the cheap.

The one's you're looking at also probably don't stream on Twitch. She needs to keep everything IAW Twitch's standards, and actually runs her stream more or less as a PG-13 channel because she has a lot of viewers who watch with their kids.
