We are instead going to make plans for the 2024 eclipse. A 6+ hour drive with a 8 year old is probably going to be easier and more fun.

I could have snuck off to god-knows where when I had a 1 year old... an 8 year old has their own world. For me, highly functional autism - but at 10 years old now who will have No Joy in a 6 hour drive to witness a 3 minute event, even though his focus is on science and solar/galactic stuff. frustrating tbh.
