Last week I temporarily ran completely out of fucks to give and paid zero attention to my diet. The week's menu included huevos rancheros, pizza, a cheeseburger, and lasagna, any one of which would ordinarily count as the week's blowout. This morning's weigh-in was predictably not-pretty. My protocol is to weigh in on both Monday and Tuesday and then record whichever weight is closer to the previous week's weight...so I could still get a Hail Mary tomorrow if I miraculously lose 2 lbs overnight.

Anyway, the fuck bin has been sufficiently replenished to go back into maintenance mode, if not actual weight-loss mode yet.

I've seen enough photos from my vacation this month to decide to invest in a full length mirror, and a scale so I don't ever let it get out of sight out of mind again. Oh, and a paper bag so I don't have to see my "old" face. :mrgreen:

I am not going away from the thread, I just forget to record my weight weekly. I still step on the scale every time I go to the gym, I just forget the 2nd step. I have also started taking a daily mile walk at 3PM. I will continue that until it gets too hot. I don't want to have to work 2 hours after returning drenched in sweat. So I am traveling about 20 miles a week between the treadmill, disc golf and my daily walk. We will see if this helps at all. Although my weight is still horrible my runs keep getting easier and easier.

Shame today isn't an official weigh in day (I may need to change it from Mondays...weekends aren't good for me!), because I was at 205.8 this morning (puts me at -7.6 for the year). Clearly I'm making progress, just not always seeing it on my weigh in day.

Oddly my stomach must have gotten used to a far healthier asian diet, and it's rebelling against the 'Merika diet. The associated runs are making me feel skinnier at least. :dance:

A week goes by, there's no change. Again, Saturday and Sunday we broke from the "Plant" diet and ended up at Dairy Queen. This time I went for Medium instead of Large. We've still got Clif Bars in the house that I'm having about 1.4/day of, and I'm still drinking Diet Mnt Dew. We've got to find some way to not go out for ice cream on weekends when we're sitting and staring at each other with the chores done and nothing else to do.

Having a funny tummy from traveling has done wonders for me. Having the scale is going to help too. The huge craving for a deep dish pizza with extra cheese not so much.

We still did DQ, but only once. The rest of the week was spent eating plant-based foods. I'm surprised I'm not losing faster, but will admit that I feel 'cleaner'. I also went a weekend without diet soda, subbing in Chai tea for that. I didn't find it super interesting.

Still did DQ once, otherwise eating pretty healthy. I've kept up the Diet Soda on the side, but am drinking more tea and have a nice new 32oz travel thermos coming that should help eliminate the 'need' to stop for diet soda so I can stay caffeinated.

Have you ever considered getting off caffeine? Perhaps not right now as you are making other big changes, but once you are in a new routine?

The trick is portion control. It's not as bad if you order it and eat off of them for 3-4 days. Of course, leftover pizza is not as good as fresh.

In my own experience, it's far more effective to use my limited willpower to not-order-pizza than it is to not-binge-pizza once it's in the house. :)

Trying to encourage the Eldest (8 years old) to cook, he decides to make Strawberry Shortcake. So we deviated from the Plant-Based diet for a day (well, a desert) and had Pillsbury biscuits with mashed strawberries an cool whip. As an added bonus, the entire house was striken over the week with a stomach bug. It eliminated my desire to eat for a day and suppressed my appetite for another 2. Not the best diet plan, but I lost 3 pounds this week. Not sure if it'll come back or not.

We bounced back from one illness and into another. The stomach bug gave way to a cold that left us both wiped for days, but with eager appetites for "bad" foods - which resulted in a run to the grocery store to buy vegan chips, candies, and treats like cornbread mix (prepared with apple sauce and soy milk instead of eggs and cow milk). Still in recovery, and now my body is additionally begging to be given more processed sugar foods. It hardly seemed worth it, in hindsight.

I've found that going to Sam's Club for just one slice and a coke once a week seems to be my answer. Thought I've been gaining a bit, but a check revealed 235.4 lbs so holding steady.

About two weeks ago I decided to really try and make a change. I've had a couple very false starts over the years and once, in 2012, I managed to drop 22 lbs.

Ever since then I've been steadily rising and 15 days ago I weighed in at 264.5 lbs and I'm 5'7" :shock:

So I fired up My Fitness Pal and set my goal at 200 lbs. If I get there I'll still be 15-20lbs + overweight but I haven't been sub 200 since 2001 so I figure it is a worthy goal.

For starters I'm just keeping to a daily calorie goal of 1550. This is not hard to achieve as long as I plan properly and I'm rarely miserable with hunger.

I weighed in this morning at 252 so I'm currently -12.5 lbs--just from changing my caloric intake.

Is there a tutorial on the code you guys are inputting?
