I'm an Edgar Wright fan so I'm definitely in.

The international trailer is much better than US version. The international version really plays up Edgar Wrights fast paced editing style and how the music will be part of the story.

It's like someone with talent took a script for a Fast and Furious entry, rewrote it to include a plot and made it actually good, then hired people who can act.

GoodBadFlicks loved it.

I'd like to go see it but we have some moving expenses coming up soon and I'm trying to save up as much as possible.

I'll be sure to catch it once it makes it's way to streaming/DVD on Netflix though.

The tv ads do a great job of making it look interesting.

The ads also say that rotten tomatoes has it at 98%. If that's true (I'm too lazy to type it into google) then it's better than the ads make it look.

I'm definitely seeing this one. Just not in the theater

Never heard of it or the director but because it popped up here, ads for it started popping up in FB. It looks like is should be good. Now the trick will be to remember this exists when it comes to video.

How have you not heard of Edgar Wright? Never heard of Hot Fuzz? Shaun of the Dead? Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? Oy.

It's currently at 97% on RT.com (it was at 98% very recently), and it's definitely as good as the reviews say it is. Awesome flick.

Ordinarily a car-chase action movie wouldn't make my list, but the reviews say this one transcends the genre. With the director's pedigree, it made my netflix queue.

Who is Edgar Wright? And why would I know he directed all those other movies?

Because you're in a movie review thread about his movie with multiple trailers on a high information forum, and he's considered one of the best director/writers of this generation such that he has the ability to turn down major franchises in order to do passion projects that are huge hits?

This was amazing - great chase scenes, lots of amazing tense acting and set to music in a way that felt unique and interesting. Totally worth fighting the crowd to go see.

Exactly! When I first heard the title of this movie, I thought for certain it had to be a reference to the Simon and Garfunkel song in some way. I did notice that the summary on Rotten Tomatoes included the phrase "...Baby Driver hits the road and it's gone--"

A few directors had a Twitter discussion about making movies based on Simon & Garfunkel song titles...

Image and I had no idea about the musical reference which is silly since I'm super excited about the movie.

For hepcat, who keeps a tally of what others hate. (Though I must confess, as much as his name pops up here, I don't really know Anthony Bourdain is)

I assume this popped in my social media feed precisely because I read this thread.'

So how long until this comes to rental at Blockbuster's?

I saw this over the weekend and liked it right up to the ending. I really didn't like the ending. The use of music was well done, though, and all the acting was really good as well.

Just saw it, loved it. Cast is great. Plot snaps and crackles. Edgar Wright is written all over it. The chase scenes are phenomenal. Even beyond the great songs, the entire sound design becomes part of the music without ever losing its edge and feeling cartoonish.

I enjoyed seeing this a few weeks ago. Ordinarily my mind checks out during car chases and gun battles, so I'd have a hard time getting through a movie that's nothing but car chases and gun battles, but I loved the synchronization with the soundtrack and found it to be unexpectedly smart and entertaining overall.

Never saw it, but last summer I was at the DMV amidst a massive crowd. When I finally got to the station where they ask why you're there and assign a number; I plopped my baby on their counter and told the lady she is auditioning for Baby Driver 2 and needs a license. After fawning over her for a minute, they took back the number they initially gave me and handed me another. I proceeded into the overcrowded waiting room -- where my number was the next one called. 8-)

Rented. Every few months I walk the desolate halls of the movie store and binge on everything that interests over a few days.

Can't believe I never came back into the thread to say I finally saw it.

Was pretty much as awesome as the tv ads led me to believe. Enjoyed it very much. Was less interested in Baby's character than I expected but way more interested in the context of his life as it pertained to Spacey's criminal mastermind's world, so it worked out.

I just finished this today. It's great, but I somehow managed to know nothing about it until I saw it in the Netflix suggested-for-you queue. I'd heard the title before, but for some reason I thought Baby Driver was something along the lines of a Pixar kids' movie. No idea where that came from...

It's the first time I've seen Spacey in something since he became a #MeToo poster child. It did skew my impression of the character, given that right to the end I expected Doc to be a bigger piece of shit than he ultimately was.

I still have not seen the entire movie....just clips of fancy car maneuvers.

EDIT: And I still haven't played those Driver games on PC .
