[Movie] Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle
I know there were some posts in the Kingsman 1 thread, but figured a new movie, new thread.
Trailer is in. It looks like they dialed up the absurdity, but hopefully it works still. I liked the first one, in particular the completely unexpected ending that caused me to bark out laughing.

It's release day. 52% on RT. Form comparison, the original was 74%.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

I've got my ticket for tomorrow. I remain positive in my expectations.

Never saw the first, likely won't see the second. I'm just dropping by to share the headline from the Chicago Tribune's review: James Bond for idiots

Good Bad Flicks review is in and I remain positive.
He sums it up best as "A good movie that unfortunately is the sequel to a great movie."
Which falls pretty much squarely in my expectations.

I haven't seen it yet, but anyone who goes in to this kind of movie expecting a deep plot, twists and turns, and other "rich" movie features is likely to be disappointed. The first one was a high-grade spoof of the spy genre that wanted to be 60% absurd, 40% serious. Sounds like this one maybe got the mixture wrong?

I agree with that sentiment. I saw it last night. It was fun. It wasn't smart. It had some laughs. It had some cool visual moments. Likewise It met expectations.Brian wrote:He sums it up best as "A good movie that unfortunately is the sequel to a great movie."

That's a fantastic way to put it. I saw it Thursday night and would agree with that completely.Brian wrote:Good Bad Flicks review is in and I remain positive.

Well I really enjoyed it. I actually thought it was very nearly as good as the first one.

In some strange twist of fate, while I hated the original movie, I ended up seeing this with some friends tonight (I was outvoted), and I thought it was way better than the first one. I thought it was more fun.
