Radio Days

"The scene is Rockaway. The time is my childhood. It's my old neighborhood, and forgive me if I tend to romanticize the past. I mean, it wasn't always as stormy and rain swept as this. But I remember it that way because that was it at its most beautiful."

Damn, but I love this movie!

The Truman Show.

The whole world is watching Truman on TV, and he encounters a fierce rainstorm when trying to sail away.

Signs

They listen to the radio regarding the invasion and it rains at the end as a sign of the salvation of Earth.

Horrible movie.

I liked it the first time I saw it until the Aliens actually showed up. I have a hard time thinking they don't have a better method of attacking a planet that is 2/3rds covered in stuff that will kill them that easily AND drops from the sky regularly. Aliens defeated by water is just too stupid for me to deal with.

melodrama: a work (such as a movie or play) characterized by extravagant theatricality and by the predominance of plot and physical action over characterization

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. There is a music lesson with the frog chorus (Double, Double, Toil and Trouble) and they use the time turner to travel back in time to save people (including themselves...)
