2017 Fantasy Football

Post by Dogstar »

It's that time of year again. Fantasy Football Masters is looking for two new owners to bring us up to a total of ten teams. So far we have the Bay Area Brawlers, Dirty Jersey, Cajun Footballers, Luck Hunt, Is-Grim Outlook, MD Marauders, Ohio Ohanas, and Samurai Saints. If you want in, PM me!

I'm getting excited! I have a 12-team auction draft followed by a 14-team snake draft, both on the 19th. Then the next week we draft in my main 12-team keeper league. I'll be keeping AB, Gronk, and Derrick Henry. Then of course FFM and the other OO league.

No word yet from our commissioner on when the draft is going to be. Last year he didn't announce anything until about a week prior.

I played last year on the OO league I thought. I am happy to do it again, but if you all are going ten teams, no worries I'm in another league to keep me entertained.

I'm sure we would love to go to 12. That is the best number of teams IMHO.

No, slim pickings is the 14-team league I'm in. 12-team leagues still have plenty of gold to mine.

Oh well I usually do better with auto-drafted teams. Go figure.

That's what I thought, but it autodrafted a suspended RB. Ugh!

I've held 4 drafts so far this year, including last night's OO draft.

OO League
QB: Cousins, Luck
WR: Nelson, D Thomas, Diggs, Marshall, Jackson, Wallace
RB: Gordon, Ingram, Hunt, Martin
TE: Gronk

There's so much talent left at the end of a 10-team draft, it's ridiculous.

12-team Keeper, standard scoring
QB: Mariota
WR: Brown (keeper), Tate, Landry, Moncrief, Coleman, Marvin Jones
RB: Montgomery, Anderson, Coleman, Jamaal Williams, Joe Williams, Deandre Washington, Derrick Henry (keeper)
TE: Gronk (keeper)

RBs are weak, but I have the Packer backfield locked up with Montgomery and Williams, and a few upside picks that could hit later in the season. Joe Williams could probably be cut right away.

12-team Keeper, standard scoring, auction league
QB: Wilson
WR: Evans (keeper), Thomas (keeper), Bryant, Parker, John Brown
RB: Fournette, Hyde, Ware..., Washington, Ingram, Williams
TE: Walker

Again, weak RBs. It must have been a trend for me this year. Ware was my keeper and got hurt after the draft.

14-team, 1/2 PPR league
QB: Mariota
WR: Hopkins, Snead, Garcon, Coleman
RB: Bell, Crowell, Anderson, Washington, Hill, Williams, Smallwood
TE: Graham

RB's are much better. I need to cut Williams to pick up a WR.

DST(1): Minnesota, Tennessee

Is it bad that when I checked my autodraft results, my response to seeing my primary QB slot was, "Who?!"
Spoiler:
Marcus Mariota, Ten

I like him! Top-10 quarterback in the rankings this year, and they worked a lot to bring in some talent around him. I'm hoping he'll be able to take a step forward and be close to a Top-5 QB this year.

I'm going to hold on to him for a bit. Since he was one of the autodraft's first picks. Sucks, but I've come back from worse.

This is precisely what happened to me, I have been in storm tracking mode for days. My biggest apologies and I will certainly be active in the season getting ready for games, waivers, etc. Hilariously with auto-drafting I got the highest grade of our group.

When all the other running back are dead by week 4 you won't feel so bad about that pick.

well tonight's OO draft had a much better attendance...

I totally screwed up. I had the 6th pick. In round two I decided to take a gamble that Elliot wouldn't be suspended.... Apparently 10 minutes before the draft it was announced his appeal was denied. It hadn't shown up in the news sites yet, and I just wasted a 2nd round draft pick :(

At least he'll be suspended against the 49ers in week 7.

All right boys, decision time for week 1.

Do I start Matt Ryan at QB vs Chicago, or Big Ben Roethlisberger vs Cleveland, keeping in mind that I also have Martavais Bryant as one of my starting wideouts. If the Steelers spank the Browns, I could be in for a real good day, but hard to put Ryan on the bench....

Should be fine with either, but I'd go with Big Ben. Who are your other WRs? Starting Bryant week 1 seems risky.

My roster - non-PPR league

  • Matt Ryan QB Atl
  • Ben Roethlisberger QB Pitt
  • Carson Wentz QB Phil (trade bait)
  • Doug Baldwin WR Seattle
  • Martavais Bryant WR Pitt
  • Emanuel Sanders WR Denver
  • DeVante Parker WR Miami
  • Ted Ginn WR N.O.
  • David Johnson RB Arizona
  • Isaiah Crowell RB Cleveland
  • Theo Riddick RB Detroit
  • Jacquizz Rodgers RB Tampa Bay
  • Delanie Walker TE Tenn
  • Matt Bryant K Atl
  • Pittsburgh Steelers D/SP
Aside from the QB question (I'm leaning Ryan as he carried me last year), I need to pick a flex player - basically any position other than QB...

My starting QB had a week 1 bye; and every aspect of my team sucked last week. I think I had my worst week in years and lost a game I would have easily won if just half my worthless stiffs (I'm looking at you, LeVeon Bell you turd!) met expectations. :angry-screaming:
