RIP Harry Dean Stanton

Post by tgb »

91 seems to be the magic age, this year. Chuck Berry, Jerry Lewis, HDS. Not to mention my mother.

Great actor, pretty good singer, and he had a code.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.

I honestly thought death was afraid of him. RIP to one of the greatest character actors to ever walk the Earth.
He won. Period.

He has made a million movies, or so it seems. Be odd not seeing him anymore.

Oh man, this one bums me out. My wife is gonna be real bummed, she loves him.

Her favorite role of his was in Twister. Not THAT Twister, THIS Twister...

Me too.

Just thinking back over his roles, I'm realizing how many small and unexpected ones I've forgotten. He was Molly Ringwald's dad in Pretty in Pink. He was Saint Paul in The Last Temptation of Christ.

Thanks! I don't ordinarily watch movies on my computer, but I might have 90 minutes to kill this weekend.

Repo Man is my favorite with him in it, followed by Alien. That's all I got, he was a great actor. Funny as hell in Repo Man.

Harry Dean Stanton once asked an interviewer why they were questioning him about The Care Bears Movie.

"You were in it."
"Fuck, was I?"
