Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, a legendary professional wrestling manager who also made a name for himself as a wrestler and color commentator, has died at the age of 73, WWE confirmed on Sunday.
Heenan had suffered from health issues beginning with a 2002 bout with throat cancer. Since that time, he had endured a series of physical hardships, including reconstructive jaw surgery and multiple falls resulting in injuries to his hips and shoulder.
I so hated him in the 80s and 90s...well his persona. Poor guy. I looked up pics and it seems throat cancer just ate him away to nothing. Horrible for anyone. Im also surprised he was younger than I thought back in the 80s. One of the great heel managers of wrestling.
RIP man.

Indeed. As a kid growing up on WWF/WCW late 80s-early 90s,he was the manager that was hated most.Always having the 'good' guys beat up.But he was great at being The Brain. Its a shame what cancer did to him,but hopefully he's not suffering anymore.RIP Mr.Heenan, hope you're with Gorilla Monsoon again bickering with him lol
His online height is listed at 6' but maybe its because he was always standing by giant wrestlers but I always thought he was short..like 5'5" or so lol.

As a young kid - I hated him; he was a classic heel manager and was so good at creating heat. As I grew older, and Heenan turned to commentating more, I thought he was hysterical. His verbal sparring with Monsoon (and Ventura? McMahon?) was so funny. It was sad seeing his decline in health over the last few years. R.I.P.
