Awkward to ask, but is the house in both your names? Can you just change the locks?

Every day now I seem to have sore joints and weakness. Just looked it up online and it seems that's the side effects or Lipitor. I may just drop it for a while to see.
Wife got transferred to a nursery home down in Ft Smith. Seems a couple of nights ago when she was (and is) NPO she snuck down the hallway to a neighbors room and got some water to drink. Somehow it made he sick and now she's back in the hospital for a couple of days. She should be back at the "Home" later in the week. Then maybe I can visit her.

Lipitor can cause serious problems, such as Rhabdomyolysis. That is a serious condition that needs medical attention. If you still have muscle weakness and discomfort, see a doctor asap. It could essentially shut down your kidneys.

As far as the wife, sounds like she aspirated the water. Amongst other things, it causes pneumonia because the water went into her lungs and not her stomach.

Glad to learn your wife is expected to come home later on this month. Yep, I did some searching to learn about how things are going. I need to make better OO habits again and check in more often.

Brought the wife home today, permanently we hope. She's been home about an hour and I haven't wanted to kick her back out yet....but the day is young. :?
Sorry I haven't been around for awhile but I just haven't been in the mood for company, real or online.
I'm not suicidal or anything just prefer my own company. And because their mom was away my stepson and his wife have been coming over more. :? Yeah.
Just not much has been happening here lately. I grew another foot, so now have three.

24 hours later and we had our first fight.
I didn't do a very good job of keeping the house clean and she keeps asking me to clean things.
I had 3 1/2 months of nobody nagging me and in one afternoon she must of asked me 20 times to do things.
Other than keeping the house clean I had gone out of my way to make sure she had the kind of food she wanted and her bedroom was clean and her bad was made up nice and the temp was way up from where I like it. None of which she noticed.
I shouldn't have blown up (and I was probably wrong to do so) but nagging is right up there with my favorite pet peeves.
After having our fight she looks at the wall and sees a spot on it and asks me to clean it.
I must have laughed for 5 minutes and I'm sure she has no idea why.
Perhaps I'm the one who needs to be in a nursing home. Except I won't wear diapers. :naughty:

Powerless people try to assert themselves where they can. It's usually best to agree with them and then ignore them when they're unreasonable, since the only power they have over you is what you give them.

Dont know how to say it other than say or ask it....why did you bring her home? I thought she was removed to both of your benefits so why change the situation back to being hell on both of you?

I brought her home because I still love her and feel responsible for her well being.
As Kraken said I really think she's trying to find her niche.
I've calmed down from my meltdown and I'll try to keep it under control.

It's frustrating and depressing to become dependent and confined. One naturally tries to cling to some remnant of control, and the primary caregiver suffers the brunt of that. My dad lost his health, his independence, his social connections, his dignity, his money, and his self-respect and changed from a big gregarious person to a bitter shrunken old man in just a few short years. He took it out on my mom because she's the one who was there -- he didn't resent her, but he resented depending on her for everything. When your world shrinks to an easy chair, a TV set, and four walls, you need to rule that little environment and feel like you still matter, like you still have some power over your world.

I'm sure your situation isn't quite the same, but I suspect it's similar. Xman's question about antidepressants bears repeating. If your wife lashes out because she's depressed, that might make her happier and easier to get along with.

If/when I get that far, I hope being a gamer helps. I won't need twitch skills as my favorites are all turn-based or slow-paced. Every time I think about it, I think about Roy Batty. In my lifetime I've seen things so amazing that it would seem like magic to anyone in generations before me. I can be okay with that.

dbt, I hope you're able to work with your (ex)wife and keep things going. We're always here to talk and listen. When you mentioned a third leg, all I could think of was Austin Powers... "Goodness, you're a tripod!"

Ive seen that very thing happen multiple times in my life time. Just over Christmas we lost our cousin who was like a brother to us. His world went from traveling the country in a band to a menial job to being in the hospital multiple times in a year to sitting in a recliner with a tv and 4 walls to dying. All with was mostly this year. The band was a couple years back. It sucks.

Well, she's back to her olde bad habits. I told her to keep the TV volume down as I was going to sleep. Before I got to bed I heard her turn the TV on and about two minutes later the volume goes way up.
I confront her and the volume was 80 and I had left it at 50.
"I didn't turn it up, I just turned it on and it was like that."
Yesterday my d-i-l came over to take a shower. Two minutes later my wife comes in all upset and says my d-i-l had called her a bitch. I said I'd have a talk with her when she finished her shower. A few minutes later my wife said no to that. A little while later my wife said they had worked it all out.
A couple of hours later my stepson and his wife came over to fix themselves dinner and I overheard my wife and my d-i-l having a conversation with no animosity.
My wife has reported these things to me in the past and my dil has denied it. (altho they really don't get along to well).
So,which one should I shoot?
