I think if the Colts manage to score there before the half, it not only boosts their confidence but maybe even starts Andy Reid related disquiet to begin to sprout in the KC players' minds. Next thing you know, the Colts are back in this. However, by coming up with nothing there it removes the last bit of hope from the Colts. I expect KC to come out and go for the killing blow, then it's just a matter of killing time.

I am sure you are. I'm going to go enjoy walking the dogs. Chargers are being totally outcoached by the Pats. The defense looks like they are playing a safe, vanilla pre-season defense. Zero pressure on Brady because they aren't sending anyone. Just sitting back waiting to be picked apart (which they are). Terrible play calling by LA so far on both sides of the ball. It's been obvious they needed to change their defense since the first quarter and they've changed nothing. They blitzed the Ravens and came after them.

They are simply being outcoached and outplayed.

So Belichick just needs to gaslight his defense into thinking that they're playing at Foxboro.

Whelp, the playoffs were fun. The Pats are out.

On Sunday, at 10:40pm local time in Kansas City, there will be a total lunar eclipse. This is more commonly known as a Blood Moon because of the red hue the moon takes on during the event.

The stars are literally aligning for the Chiefs.

I think I've been pretty consistent. I've been wrong 12 out of 17 times. That's pretty good.

Predictions for this round:

Patriots at Chiefs Chiefs
Rams at Saints Rams

I predict the Colts will will take on the Chiefs in a shootout, winning because they have the better defense.

Which is to say I'm way off base and have no clue. It builds a case for the Chiefs being more than I think they are but it builds a much better case for me not making predictions.

I also never would have predicted the Pats would rely on their running game to win their playoff entry round and had this weird sort of Foals fascination for beating the naysayers when he had been doing everything asked of him, no matter what reality said with regard to how ugly those wins may have been.

I predict two of the four teams playing this weekend will win and those two winning teams will match up in the Superbowl. I will then put $40 into what amounts to 8 squares spread on two different sheets. My squares will have enough 5s and 8s that I won't even care enough to pay attention to the game and root for a score. That $40 will be lost.

Since the Chiefs beat the Colts 31-13 on Saturday, you may need to update your calendar.

I had confidence in the Colts winning that game. It seemed a natural outcome to me and it was the only game I was really confident of. The outcome of that game pretty much says I know nothing about how this weekend is going to shape up.

I have no idea for this round. I thought the Patriots only had maybe a 30% - 40% chance of beating the Chargers, and they wound up walloping them. I tend to think that the Chiefs will probably win (especially since it's at Arrowhead), but I have no real idea. I'll give the Chiefs a 55% chance of winning.

As for Rams / Saints....I dunno, the Rams are really good, right? I'll pick them.

The analytic sites are quoting KC with a 65% chance of winning. That is the same that the Pats had against the Jets in the last game of the season. That outcome is certainly in the realm of possibility.

Technically freezing, but no worse than last week for either team. With predicted winds around 10mph, weather shouldn't be much of a factor.

I’m liking both of the road teams to win today. Well, “liking” is the wrong word. But I think the Pats and Rams play in two weeks. I’m more sure of Pats than I am Rams though.

Rams got away with one of the most flagrant pass interferences I've ever seen not get called. It remains to be seen if it matters though.

Will go down as a tainted victory, but a pretty clutch field goal. Also, the Rams defensive play on that 50 yard pass play before the interference non-call was horrible. The defender had his hands on the ball, but let it be caught.

I'm in the Los Angeles area so I'm okay with the Rams going to the Super Bowl but this is a bitter way to do it. They've had a great season but it kind of ruins it when something so clearly a penalty in a critical moment in the game wasn't called. The Rams defender didn't even make an effort to pretend to be playing the ball.
