Started the year at 245.2. Currently weighed in at 229.8 this morning. Loss:
15.4 pounds
Mostly, this is just getting back to eating healthy. In early February, I eliminated all added sugars and simple carbs - except the
very rare treat. My activity levels are the same. I'm just not stuffing myself with sugar and bread/pasta on a daily basis. Over the weekend I ate an entire pineapple and it felt decadent, but only clocks in at just under 500 calories.
Most of my meals are pulled from this list:
- 1 cup Old Fashioned Oatmeal with raw 3/4 cup Blueberries and 1/3 cup walnuts, 1/8tsp salt; ~600 calories
- 4 fried eggs, runny yolks, cooked in canola oil; ~500 calories
- Large, nut-filled salad. Kale, spinach, arugula, bell pepper, radish, cabbage, 2 slices provolone, cherry tomatoes, Spanish olives, shaved carrot, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pecans, Bacon Bits (they're made of soy!), Salad Toppins mix, Ms. Dash seasoning, italian dressing; ~800-~1000 calories? Hard to gauge.
- Cooked Barley or Farro mixed with fried, seasoned tofu cubes; ~500-600 calories?
My total list of treats includes:
- 4 slices of pie (by volume, not at once)
- 2 dinners at Chipotle; both times it was a Sofritas Salad with the works; ~900 calories
- 1 dinner at a Mexican restaurant, ordered a veggie burrito that was massively unsatisfying
Sugar cravings died off after about 3 weeks. I'm still craving pizza on a daily basis.
