The interesting part is going to be getting the sound system set up properly. I've seen several troopers that have sound systems but their natural voice overrides the effect. whitearmor.net has a couple options that appear (at least on video) to do an excellent job of making your voice sound like the over-the-speaker Stormtrooper voice. They also play background loops of radio chatter.

SOOOOO looking forward to this. I've now been in contact with the local garrison.

Update: Ordered. <GULP> That's a lot of money.

I have no idea how long it will take them to build it.

Around $2500 shipped from England. It's hand made, along with the backpack, two different types of blasters and an extra shoulder pauldron. I picked up a white/black one to go with the orange. Orange = Captain. White/Black = Sargent. I figure if there is another guy at an event I go to that only has orange, I'll wear white.

You can get kits and build them for a good bit less. I just didn't want to go through the time and pains of building one for my first uniform. I might try building from a kit if I like it and want to add a standard white armor kit later.

My wife really struggled getting her first costume built, even something as relatively easy as the imperial guard had a lot of details to get right, but once she got in the legion it got a ton easier. Not only do they just go a little easier on you in the approval process once they know you, but our local garrison at least has a lot of armor parties where people will get together at someone's house and work on armor together. One of the main guys has something like 30 costumes and has come up with a solution for almost any costume problem you can imagine.

That's a long way of saying it's probably wise to get your first costume done professionally, and then working on a second one with the legion for support.

Let us know when you find the droids that we are looking for, by the way.

In my younger days (after I got out of the army) I had a WW2 German outfit. Complete with a MP 40. It was fun slaughtering those Americans.

Funny how the universe has a way of sorting things out. One day a lost untraceable untrackable UPS shipment the next day boxes magically appear on a doorstep and into a barren bedroom with a dirty desert Stormtrooper threatening us with no bed sheets and a very long blaster rifle.

Congrats man, the outfit looks screen authentic and damn badass.

Dare you to wear it when the next SW's movie opens...will need picture proof of course.

Im wondering how you clean it. I mean how do you know it needs cleaning? And when you do clean it does it stay dirty looking somehow?

Yes. Terrible visibility. You also kinda need a handler to put it on, but it can be done solo if you don't have one. Not ideal though.

With sandies it doesn't really matter. The TKs (regular storm troopers) polish theirs from time to time.
