RIP TV set
I pressed the power button on my TV set. It gave a sickly whine as it powered up then nothing. No power.
My mind raced with possibilities. I can finally replace it! The speaker buzzes on one side and the color shifts almost inperceptively on most of what I play. And it heats up the house. Its a plasma set.
Finally Im free! [Let alone I have a perfectly good twin in the living room that I could replace it with... that I don't use... I'm going to replace it!]
Oh wait. I see the power cord. My heart sinks. I plug it in. It works.

Heh.
Every day you can squeeze out of it means a cheaper and better replacement.

That's what I keep telling myself. It would be better if the TV didn't have issues. The biggest issue I have now is the sheer amount of heat this thing puts off.LawBeefaroni wrote: ↑Thu Jul 19, 2018 4:58 pm Heh.

I remember thinking plasma TVs were so damn cool. Heat be damned I wanted one. Went to get one and it was out of stock and I had to get a bigger lcd one for the same price. Im ok with that still.

I spent soooooo many hours videotaping myself doing crunches in my youth. What I wouldn't give to have those videos today so that I could watch myself do crunches.
Why??? Why didn't I keep those videos???

In 2005, I couldn't warrant paying $1600 for a 45" wide screen rear projection television capable of 480p to replace a dying CRT TV. I could see changes coming and thought I should hold off. $1600 is a lot of money. Not much more'n ten years later, you can get a new 55"1080p flatscreen delivered to your door next day $220. Or go the bigtime and get a 4k 70" Sony for $1200.

Both plasma sets are twins. I wanted a newer model.
