The life improvement thing is in the works. I don't post anything but certainties. If I post "Hey, maybe this will happen" and it doesen't I avoid the dogpile.

No. I posted the cat pic to ask if the pawboost cat looked like my missing cat. I'm looking for my missing cat.

Well. Honestly? I'm not doing great. Applying for work, going to AA meetings and not much else. It's heads and tails above being in the IE, but lack of income plus an an appointment I missed with Voc rehab that I waited for for months that I missed cause I got my days wrong makes me pretty miserable

I got a new one for three weeks out, but it still really hurts to blow something so intrinsic to my future for no reason at all other then I fucked up and somehow lost a day.

I still don't really want to drink or use but I am pretty far from happy.

I tell myself that I'm still doing WAY better then if I had stayed in the IE but sometimes it's hard to keep my head up.

If it was 6 months as of Oct 1st, it's 7 months as of Nov 1st.

Congrats on over 7 months of sobriety!

Make sure you have the date right for your meeting in 3 weeks now and set a reminder/alarm on your phone.

Seconded. You still seem to self-sabotage, even without substances to blame for those behaviors. That's kind of why I asked.

Kindly let me relate one of my favorite parables:
A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his
journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”

In the immortal words of Elsa:

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free.

Cool woman, cool eyes
You got me hypnotized
So head down, get a rhythm
Stop your stalling and your bitching
