Only Beefaroni and any sort of Spaghettios may be eaten directly from the can. Well, the ravioli too but it's too hard to get it out intact. The others will put you on the can, directly.

With ravioli you use a fork and spear it like a fish.

Saw a can of this today at the store. I bought it. Will likely eat it tomorrow for lunch. I'll put it in a bowl to heat up but leave two pieces in the can to eat while I'm waiting for it to be heated up.
That sound of the spoon scraping over the can ribbing as you corral the last ravioli or two is the signal that a great treat is coming. It's the washboard solo in God's own

Feeling nostalgic? Enjoy your favorite pastas made with throwback recipes.

I can confirm that the throwback recipe is different than the current one and that it tastes better as well. My only complaint is that it has onion. Not much and it's mushy and soft without any flavor but it's there. Other than that, though, i't's better in every way that the current one. Might be a bit sweet for some though.

The only things I eat straight from the can are sardines and other rectangle-packed fish.

I don't think you need a harpoon fork to spear a sardine. I'll eat sardines straight from the can, but anchovies usually get dumped out atop the Greek salad which is the primary reason for them to exist.

Those barbs would block you from laying the side of the fork down flat and scooping stuff up.

Well as I said I did not like these as a kid but picked up two cans earlier in the month.

First can I fixed I hated. Yeech. I ate a few bites then put in the dog food.

but last night I was hungry. I had a choice of these again or some old chili can. Thats it other than an egg. So I went these again. I was really hungry so they were a little better. I ate a few bites. Then I remembered I had some Mexican 4 cheese blend shredded cheese left over from when I made the meatloaf. I put some of that in my hot )s bowl and mixed it up. It was thicker with cheese stringing off the spoon. It tasted really really good. I ate that bowl and just now went and ate the rest of it the same way.

Just heated some mini-ravioli in the microwave. It was only lukewarm but I was too lazy to put it back in. It was terrible. In fairness to heat, there is only so much it can do. It won't turn a turd into gold and it won't save chef boyardee stuff from being terrible.

I ate it anyway.

...and I just ate some Campbell's Chili Mac with the last of the Sriracha Ketchup. It's probably good because a quarter of the can by volume is salt no doubt.

Chef Boyardee ravioli and lasagna are only edible when cold (well, room temperature.)

Spaghetti-Os are too sweet at any temperature.

Did not like Chef Boyardee products as a kid and definitely would not like it now at any temperature. I imagine it is even sweeter than it was decades ago.

The college students of today with their fancy cuisine meal plans are really missing out on the Chef Boyardee experience! Because my freshman year meal plan really sucked back in the 90s, cans of the stuff were like valuable prison currency.

YES! I did the O's and franks, heated the stove top, with 1 cup of Cracker Barrel Cheddar Cheese shredded! The pans were such a mess to clean up. Then I upped the game with adding 5-8 shakes of Tabasco sauce as the years went by. Think I stopped opening up pasta cans around age 22 or so.
