Ouch.

I will say, I am happy to think that he left us knowing full well how much we all appreciated and loved him and his work.
That’s a rare accomplishment in life. Kudos to him.

Saw the title and blurted out "OH NO!" Guy has been around a long time. Had started to worry about him over the last year with less appearances and hearing of falls and care at home.

Those may not stop. Last I heard he had several more pre-filmed for just this eventuality.

I'm just glad he lived long enough to see his work embraced by the mainstream. It took a long time, but he witnessed his characters go from niche kid stuff to global box office phenomenons. That's awesome. Very sad day but I take comfort that he left behind a legacy of characters that show no signs of slowing down.

My opinion of him changed over time, from cool, he's doing cameos, to annoying, he's doing cameos, to cool, he really seems to get a kick out of it. And he never took himself seriously that I ever saw. I quite highly value the ability to laugh at yourself.

I'm not exactly a fan of his but he seemed to be having fun and I also value the ability to have fun.

I don't feel much sorrow at his passing, but that's not to say I feel nothing. He seems to have lived a long life and brought joy to a lot of people. That's a life worthwhile, and that's all we hope for any of us. Kudos.

He was a pop culture icon. It's remarkable that people are still enjoying the same characters and stories that I enjoyed in the 1960s -- and that they only kept getting more and more popular is amazing.

I think they should have a scene in a Marvel movie at his grave site for one last cameo. I think it would be respectful.

I was heartbroken. No one person that I’ve never met had influenced my life more than Mr.Lee...it was an escape as a child growing up in constant chaotic situations due to bad parenting. At least until I was sent to live with my nanny and uncle, whom many of u know as Rip on here.

I’ve been reading comics since I was old enough to read, and that’ll never change. His characters he created or had a hand in creating were some of my favorites, especially Spider-Man.

Someone somewhere once suggested that if there were to ever be a biopic, that Bryan Cranston should play him. I fully agree. Brilliant in Breaking Bad and Trumbo.

The Stan Lee cameo in Spider-Verse was a tough one. It's funny, because there's supposed to be a joke involved, but no one in the theater laughed.

news story I read says that the cameo he did in Deadpool or DP2 made him damn mad because he was a DJ in a strip club and his scene was the only one filmed on set instead of on location :)

Can you give a spoiler on what it was?
Spoiler:
Miles gets Spider powers, but then Spider-Man dies. The entire city is mourning. Miles goes to a store to buy a Spider-Man costume, almost in shock. The clerk is Stan Lee who says, "I'm going to miss him. He was a good friend of mine." Then referring to the suit, he says, "It fits everyone, eventually." Then the camera pans over to a sign that says "Absolutely No Refunds."
It would be a funny joke IF Stan was alive. Since he passed, it's hard to see past all the onions that someone is apparently chopping during the movie.

Is weird that as described I don't think it was meant to be funny and isn't uncomfortable either?
Spoiler:
I see it as a sort of tasteful way to say "Thank you, Excelsior."

"It fits everyone, eventually" is being at peace with one's mortality, isn't it? and "absolutely no refunds" implores you to lead the best life you can with your one shot.

I think it's kind of a nice way to see the show is almost over and gratitude for the success he achieved in doing what he was so passionate about and his way of encouraging others to do the same.

There is a gentle kindness and love for humanity in it that brings a lump to your throat. A sort of humility few with his position seem to have.
